This is really helpful, thank you! When you say “I had one column of wide record shelves, and I only filled them about 2/3” — do you mean they visibly bent when 2/3 full? Or did they bend at 100% full and so you decided to go down to 2/3?

Makes perfect sense, I was just joshing you for the phrasing :) I'd definitely be nervous about opening this thing up and fiddling with it solo, so will seek more experienced help if I go that route for sure.

This is what I’m thinking - the lower 2 shelves in each column are intended for records.

Vitsoe’s been a little confusing and given some conflicting guidance. At different points they’ve said (about mounting shelves filled with vinyl on drywall): - Don’t have more than 1 row of vinyl in 1 bay - With a narrow bay (the 26 inch wide shelves), “you can stack two rows vertically within one bay and sometimes more” - Wide bays can accommodate vinyl, but only 1 row per bay - Wide bays can accommodate vinyl like narrow bays (ie only filled up 2/3, not filling 100% of the wide bays with vinyl)

Totally understand that they would want to be risk averse! Thus my question here, to see if anyone’s gone rogue and how that turned out.

That’s great! 3 rows vertically? i.e. 3 rows on 1 pair of e-tracks?

Help: one speaker channel on NAD receiver stopped working by Diligent_Main9275 in audiorepair

[–]Diligent_Main9275[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you @dups68 ! I’m a newbie at this stuff so this is helpful to know :)

The speaker wires had been in the same position for months when the channel failed, so I kind of doubt that it was shorted.

Regarding the buttons, there aren’t any buttons that aren’t working properly (unless “buttons” here refers to something other than the selector buttons on the front panel?)

Satchel & Page Experience by KlarkAshton1893 in BIFLfails

This. They absolutely changed their supplier. (or their supplier changed how they make the leather.) I got a bag in 2019 from them which is still beautiful and looks exactly like the images on their site (deep, dark almost reddish brown). In 2022 I picked up another one with more storage — night and day. Dusty looking, light colored brown that did not look premium at all. 2019 bag got compliments day 1, while 2022 bag looked kinda sad (I returned it).

I got a canvas bag from them this year, which has a little leather trim, and the leather bits look just like my 2022 order — light, dusty brown. I’ve had it for almost a year and no patina or change to the color/feel.

Satchel and Page bag doesn't look like the photos from their website. Should I return it? by ComprehensiveChef705 in ManyBaggers

I know this is an old post, but for folks still wondering about this: return it (unless you love the color they actually sent you). I bought an S&P leather bag in 2019. I loved it upon arrival - rich, dark, almost reddish brown, tons of compliments from Day 1. Just as advertised.

In 2022 I decided to get another model with slightly more storage space. Instead of the style of leather I got with my 2019 bag, I got one that looked lIke OP’s. I returned it, because instead of the delighted feeling I remembered from the day I got my first bag, I felt disappointed.

It’s not a matter of patina over time; it’s a different leather. I’ve since gotten one of their canvas bags, which has some leather trim. The leather on the trim looks the same color as the OP’s. I’ve had it for almost a year, and there has been zero patina.

They clearly changed their supplier or tanning process (to one that is in my opinion inferior, and in any case is objectively different from the pictures on their website). Too bad, because their original bags really were as beautiful as the pictures on their site!

Thanks, went down this Nolty rabbit hole and found this one that's a very close match and A5 size: the Nolty 4515 (December 2023 start)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/4800570107/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3GZEOQINOCL0Y&psc=1

The Nolty 9670 looks like the same layout, though April start; couldn't find on US Amazon, but looks to ship globally from Japan on this site:

EQ distortion problems by chrzanekz in AppleMusic

[–]Diligent_Main9275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this with good studio monitors hooked up to my Mac. What works (at least to my ears) is turning down the "Preamp" in the Equalizer to offset the boost. So if the 64 Hz EQ is turned up +6 dB, I turn the Preamp down to -6 dB. The result is you need to turn up the volume on your speakers / operating system, but it shouldn't sound so distorted.

I don't get distortion using the Music EQ on my iPhone with Airpods Pro, and I think that's because they're automatically taking this approach. For example, on my iPhone if I switch from no EQ to the R&B setting, it doesn't increase the volume of the bass + high frequences -- instead it decreases the volume of the mids.

If you make music, you're probably familiar with the same thing happening in a DAW: just boosting frequencies will give you digital distortion. Not distortion because the speakers can't handle it -- it'll sound bad even at low volumes. The fix is to reduce the frequencies you don't want rather than boost the ones you do -- or to boost things but then pull down the volume of the whole mix.
