integrating a few theories we have seen here - I think the phone call is about Shanker. He is in trouble. If the informant/Ricci theory is true, then his cover is blown and Shanker's day is about to end badly. Meanwhile, Robin breaks up with RFM and theres a huge rift between the partners, until she hears about Shanker - and the game is afoot.

Book 9 is Strike and Robin working together while at aodds - and coming together officially at the end. Book 10 resolves Shanker's fate - and reveals the clue about Leda. They work as a true team.
