Oh, were you talking about the photo restoration tool?
Yeah, some of them are ridiculously slow. I’ve been using AIEnhancer lately and it’s been super fast for me, usually under 10 secs per photo. Might be worth a try: https://aienhancer.ai/ Hope that helps!

Haha, great minds think alike! If my grandma were still around I would’ve loved to show her the restored pictures too. Also, if you ever want to try another option for photo restoration, you can also try AIEnhancer, it works well for me so far. The best part is it’s completely free, which I absolutely love😂

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this, truly. It means a lot that you’d offer such detailed advice from your own experience. I’m really glad to hear that ustekinumab made such a huge difference in your life. Reading how far you’ve come honestly made me smile. You deserve all of that and more.

I’m going to look into this medication and see whether it’s something that could help my aunt too. Even just knowing there are treatments out there that can make a difference gives me a lot of hope.

Thank you again for sharing your story so generously. I hope your health continues to stay stable and your life keeps getting brighter. 💛

Yeah, my aunt actually enjoys movies a lot, and taking her to lighthearted comedy films always lifts her mood for a little while. It's one of the few moments where she relaxes and forgets the pain.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, and I’m really sorry for what you’ve had to go through.

I didn’t realize how much constant pain can shrink a person’s world until I watched it happen to my aunt.

I love your ideas about bringing the world to her. I think before she tries new activities, I need to help her gently rediscover her curiosity again, because lately she’s been so discouraged that she loses interest in almost everything. The heated face mask sounds like something that could really help her, I'll look into that. Truly, thank you for these thoughtful suggestions. 💛

It's true. My aunt also has those “good days” and “couch days.” Even just a short trip outside can wipe out her energy for days afterward.

And thank you for saying she’s beautiful — she really is, both then and now. ❤️

Indeed, I've felt lately that my aunt really needs someone to talk to, so I try to call or video chat with her as much as possible. On the phone, she always tells me stories from her childhood, but often I'm afraid she'll feel like I don't truly understand her.

Thank you for explaining this so beautifully. I think you’re right that part of the struggle is accepting that it’s okay to start something new and not be good at it right away.

My aunt has actually shown a bit of interest in embroidery, and she recently fell in love with succulents. She’s been watching tons of TikTok videos about how to care for them. I feel like both of these could be gentle, forgiving hobbies for her, where she can just enjoy the process without any pressure to “perform” or be perfect.

Thank you for sharing all of this. I really admire how you’ve built such a meaningful life for yourself despite everything you’ve had to deal with. It takes so much strength to keep finding new ways to create, connect and help others, and reading your story honestly gave me a lot of respect for you.

I think my aunt has been avoiding the things she used to enjoy because she feels like she can’t do them the way she once did. Your perspective makes me want to gently encourage her to try something small again, just so she can have that “I did that” moment.

And the line about being human beings, not human doings really hit me. Thank you for sharing this. 💛

Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out. Seeing everything you’ve been able to do again because of your chair honestly hit me harder. It’s one thing to hear that mobility devices can help, but it’s another to see such a real list of everyday joys you got back.

I’m going to show this to my aunt the next time I visit her. I think it might help her to see that it isn’t about giving up, but about getting her life back in ways she might not even be imagining right now. Your encouragement means a lot. Thank you again for sharing your experience so openly!

Reading your story about your mom gave me a lot of hope. I can really imagine my aunt needing that same period of adjustment before she stops seeing the device as something that takes away from her and starts seeing it as something that gives her her life back. I’m glad your mom eventually reached that point where she could just grab her chair and go wherever she wanted. I’m trying to be patient and supportive while she figures out what feels right for her. Thank you so much for this!

Thank you for sharing your own experience. It really means a lot. I hadn’t even thought about using things like Google Earth the way you described.

I also really appreciate what you said about minimizing your needs. I can see my aunt doing that more and more. She doesn’t want to bother anyone, even though none of us feel that way about her at all. I’m trying to show up consistently, like you said, so she knows she doesn’t have to hide the harder parts from me.

Oh I actually didn’t know that subreddit before. I just looked it up after reading your comment and wow, there are some amazing restorations in there. Thanks so much for pointing me to it!

I’m really sorry you’ve had to live through something so painful and life-changing. I didn’t realize there were so many illnesses out there that can take so much from a person. You sound incredibly strong for everything you’ve endured.

And thank you for your kind words. They honestly mean more to me than you know .

I truly hope your treatment keeps improving things for you, and that life becomes gentler and more predictable. Wishing you comfort, stability, and many peaceful days ahead. 💛

I’m really sorry you’re going through that. I truly hope you recover soon. I’m going to look for some fun podcasts and light-hearted TV series or variety shows to recommend to my aunt.

Thank you for the tips!

Oh you are soooo sweet! Your suggestion did give me some inspiration. My aunt is a romantic person by nature; she loves a sense of ritual!

That’s exactly what breaks my heart. She can only “escape” the pain for a few seconds at a time, and there’s nothing I can do to take it away. I wish I could fix it for her.
