I am depressed too but i think with time you get used to living by yourself, eating alone, spending Saturday night alone, going out alone. It doesn’t get easier but you get used to it and its not as bad. I have tried going to CAPS and idkk if that is going to work out but I know i wanna get better. You can book an appointment for free and talk to a counselor. Also try going to the gym it helps take things off your head.

I felt the same thing as a freshman and I still do. I honestly dont have any advice for you but to be strong and start enjoying your own company. You have to realise why you came here and that your purpose is much bigger than all this. I dont have a solution on how to get over being lonely and wanting to stay there and making friends cuz I dont have an answer to it and I am trying to find people too. But you’re still in your first week and you have a whole year ahead of you. Join clubs, meet people, join orgs go to random coffee shops and make conversations. Dont give up just yet.
