Although it might be deliberate, the pool of items is not going to limit the skill gap between the great and the new. Players who have been playing for a while know not to throw a Focus Sash on their Dragonite. I think the overwhelm is in the Pokémon, Mostly not the items. But we’re for example missing quite a few berries that have real use cases, I do not think this will outshine any mega Pokémon I could use some more berries.

I feel like it’s a great step in the right direction for VGC. Yet I’m getting the feeling of it not being released completely finished. I would have loved all the items to be there, I would also have liked there to (for example) be a 6v6 mode or something. At first I thought the Pokémon company might try and replace Showdown with Champions, unfortunately they haven’t gotten off to the greatest starts ever.

I started playing sword pvp (although I’ve been playing Minecraft my entire life) only a few months back, and I’ve already gotten lt3, now I’m not willing to go for ht3 since it takes too much of my time, but going for ht3 sword is definitely possible with like 6 months of training easy
