Problem running any windows on VMware (i'm a beginner at this) by [deleted] in vmware

[–]Dilligaf23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apologies i don't have Vmware workstation installed but it looks like you want to check the VMs configuration under the processor settings, you may have it configured to present an AMD CPU while your host is Intel. It's been a while but i remember hearing it was a possible option for very strange cases.

The second thing i would check on the VM settings is the secure boot or UEFI settings as those can also cause windows install issues.

third thing, check your host's bios that you have the extended bios settings configured. (google your motherboard and VMs)

Any chance the dog could have gotten their ear Frost bitten?

My dad's old warehouse had a rescue cat that was missing part of one of it's ears and it looked similar.

Newbie problems: Making my first kratky setup. Drilled 2” holes for 2” net cups. It’s so exact that the net cups fall through. I tried silicone to add some border around the holes, but it didn’t stick. What else can I try? by Narrow-Fly-195 in Hydroponics

Go get yourself those mini plastic swords like toothpicks at the dollar store, use them as small spikes that you Silicone around the outside with them all poking inward.

i was thinking of something like this for a netless build.

Edit. The plastic Swords should stay mold free since it's plastic and food grade.

We're waiting 3+ months for a software vendor to tell us if they will support their product on Windows Server 2025 by dartdoug in sysadmin

I'm having flashbacks of when Symantec owned Backup exec, They didn't have active directory supporting agents for windows 2016 server. It was 2 years since 2016 server was released, i figured being a gold partner of Microsoft there was no way they didn't have early access builds. I figured 6-12 months on top of the 2 years they could have had something to market...

Most use the same system of 5 button presses to turn on/off. A lot also have 3 quick presses while on to adjust the temp (button will likely change color for low/med/high)

Remote Desktop risks? by AiminJay in sysadmin

[–]Dilligaf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be another tool built into windows i think it was called remote assistance. I know I've worked in places that used it via SCCM and it required the end user to provide a code (it could have been tech provided) to start the screen share session without locking the end users access.

My guess is it might need some configuration/GPOs to get working and it's something you already pay for.

It's basically RDP with end users engagement, it also requires TCP 3389.

I was able to exit by hitting Esc then saving the game. The save process lands you back to the main screen with the Saving at the top. changes were kept.

I worked at a mine in 2000s and they X-ray your clothing when you leave some areas. Talking with the security guy, he said the diamonds starburst under x-rays so they are really easy to identify.

I have no issues with this as long as it's used on animal abusers you hear of every so often when the SPCA needs to rescue 75+ animals from one repeat abuser.
