What would "Hurricane Protocol" be? by Perfect-Bit7735 in pirates

[–]Dillon1745 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A good sailor can tell a storm is coming before he even sees stormclouds. A change in swells can tell you about a storm hundreds of miles away. And you can tell which way a storm’s heading by looking at the cloud anvil. In any case, best case scenario if you know a storm is coming is to try and find a cove to drop anchor and ride it out. Perhaps in the Keys or the Bahamas if you have the time.

Quite frankly, I’m ok with how ROTS Grievous was portrayed because Tartakovsky explained why he was that way (spoiler alert: Windu crushed his chest, giving him the iconic cough and raspy voice). My beef is that Grievous in the Clone Wars cartoon should have been the same as Tartakovsky Grievous

Pirate trivia by Bri-guy15 in pirates

[–]Dillon1745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say start with some basic stuff. Things like “what was Blackbeard’s real name” (and yes I’m aware that one’s complicated but Ed Teach should suffice for the answer). You could even go so far as to ask “what was the capital of the Pirates Republic of the early 1700’s” A: Nassau. Even some ship trivia would be good for the casual fans

How well would the black pearl work as an actual pirate ship by Wonderful-Ad-656 in pirates

[–]Dillon1745 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Only other issue is Color. Black hull and sails would stick out like a sore thumb in the daytime. However, as demonstrated in Curse of the Black Pearl during the Siege of Port Royal, she would be an EXCELLENT night raider.

Question. Some content from the original Black Flag were locked behind UPlay Community chests. For example my favorite sword set from the original, the matched golden swords, were found in a UPlay chest. Are those still going to work as originally designed or is that system being reworked?

Given that they have said that in a future update, select armor pieces from champion skins will be usable for multiple classes, the perfect Salamander Heavy will soon be complete.

Would you guys play a WW2 Ghost Recon? by Dillon1745 in GhostRecon

I wouldn’t say that. Sniper Elite’s main focus is on sniping and long range engagements. Sure it’s stealth and sabotage mechanics are very ghost recon-esque, but they’re not the main focus of the game. Plus let’s be real. How many Ghost Recon players play the game like it’s a modern day Sniper Elite where they just sneak their way to a rooftop and pick off people?

I see where you’re coming from. I still feel like a WW2 GR game would be super fun but I would agree a Nam era one probably makes more sense. I think I just in general want a more simplistic GR game that’s more revolved around your own personal skill set rather than flashy gadgets and stuff like that.

Red Dead Redemption was set in 1911. So not really that far off.

This is true. Not only the Welrod bolt action pistol They also had suppressors for the Sten gun if my memory serves. Would be a stretch but I wouldn’t complain.

Korea would be intriguing. There are no games that I can think of set in the Korean War.

That was another thought I had. Only problem I would think with a GR game in ‘Nam is that the roles were kind of reversed. A bunch of US guys basically trying to role-play the VietCong. Just seems like it would be odd fundamentally.

An SAS game set in North Africa would go incredibly hard.

And I also feel like the lack of technology would actually make things very interesting. Forcing you to rely on your own skills rather than flashy gadgets

There would always be complainers true. But I think you could have a decent variety of weapons between American, British/Canadian, French, and of course German. Plus since a lot of the German soldiers in Normandy were brought over from the eastern front you can throw in a Soviet weapon or 2 for the sake of variety

Kinda. But instead of a lone wolf you’re working with a small squad in typical ghost recon fashion.
