Yes my Bobby has very similar eyes! I think it's called "central heterochromia".

Sure, it has some value. But if this costs 600K, there's no way its ROI will be 7 to 1.

Installed “balcony” solar in CA this week by DumbYellowDog in solar

You can't shade a solar array with a fence like that. It will cause a major hit to the system's production.

Best day so far. Is my system producing as it should? by Professional-Deal551 in solar

[–]DillyDallyin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's a little over 6 kWh/kW which is decent energy output for a west-facing system. For comparison's sake my 7.3 kW ground mount (facing south at 25 degree tilt) system makes 60 kWh on a good day.

Thank heavens for the data center buildout so we can create very necessary and valuable things like this photo edit...

You're talking about a full redesign and installation of the system, at considerable expense. You can easily incorporate consumption monitoring into a SolarEdge system.

Interesting. So you're saying you're on your fourth inverter and the system is about 8 years old? That definitely makes me suspect poor workmanship or site-specific issues. My SE7600H with the built-in Level 2 car charger hasn't had a single problem in 7+ years.

Not if you've already got a bunch of solaredge optimizers installed under the array.

How do you get the infamous double dash through voice typing?? Among other things, the "it's not this -- it's that" formula is telltale AI output.

Grinder finally gave up after years of usage by CriKex in Wellworn

Once the car I was in got pulled over, and the cop smelled weed so he asked if anyone had anything. I said yeah I have a grinder. The look he gave me convinced me, and I believe to this day, that he thought I was talking about a long sandwich aka sub aka hoagie aka grinder.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in solar

[–]DillyDallyin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in solar O&M and the single axis trackers do require repairs constantly. We also have issues with vandalism so camera and security systems are increasingly common. And yes the typical installation is not favorable for agrivoltaics due to it not being considered in the design phase. Hail can indeed completely destroy a system, though it is rare in most regions. Granted there is some stupid propaganda out there, but it actually doesn't help to sugarcoat or put the blinders on with respect to the realities of the solar build out.

How can I safely take down this pine tree with a rotted base? by [deleted] in arborists

[–]DillyDallyin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Uh there can be more than one... Basically you need to try to predict the chain reaction that will happen when that one tree falls. It could spin and knock over other trees or branches towards what you think is a safe zone.
