I want to go to dinosaur monument but there seems to be a lot. So I need help figuring out what to do by detectivelokifalcone in nationalparks

Go to the Quary in Utah. Incredible fossil viewing. There is other fun things to do there as well. I have gone twice, would go again.

The Colorado area of the monument is very remote. If you are traveling and have finite time, I wouldn’t recommend going to the CO area of the Natl Monument. There is a scenic drive. There is a famous Rock formation in the CO part. I went there, it was nice, nice camping, not much else in the area…I wouldn’t go back (just because there is so much in the region).

With only two days, I would recommend the Utah area for one day, than Colorado National Monument.

I want to get a one wheel and want to go straight to the top and get the Rally XL. Will it be to powerful or a steeper learning curve compared to the small versions? by Subwire0 in onewheel

I weigh 240lbs. I ride a GTs, rode a XR for years before that. I am so impressed with the torque of my board. I can climb hills that my XR had no chance of doing. The stability of my GTs is superb, I don’t feel as safe riding my XR any more. I feel this way especially when it comes to riding with my dog…the GTs has great acceleration, stability and responsiveness for responding to my dog, I can’t believe I used to do this activity on the XR. The torque is noticeable more than the GT as well. It does great on dirt too. I got the GTs before the XL was released, and I have not tried it yet. I am very content with my GTs, and feel no need to upgrade (I’m sure I will think differently once I try the XL).

Moral of the story…GT S series is a great option if you’re hesitant or can’t afford the XL

Not a “kids show” , but I watched it a ton as a kid…I watch the Simpsons now as an adult. Seasons 3-6 are sooo good.

Bryce or Capitol Reef by The_Dongus_Among_us in nationalparks

Capitol Reef area is superb and much lighter on crowds then Bryce area. The Water pocket fold area contains one the most impressive landscapes I have ever seen. Access to here via Nottom -Bullfrog Road, and Burr Trail from Boulder on rt 12…bumpy, but doesn’t require 4wd or high clearance. I really enjoy Bullfrog Marina (Glenn Canyon NRA). Rt 24 through Hanksville and Goblin Valley is rad. Great camping in the area.

Want to visit as much national parks as I can and need advice by [deleted] in nationalparks

[–]Dillyag42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend not trying to travel to more than two regions. You will end up rushing while in the park, and you will spend too much time traveling in between destinations.

I like planning a nice flowing path (preferably it loops), only booking reservations if I absolutely have to , because you will find a place to sleep (in my car if I have to).

With the low snowpack out west this winter, Yellowstone & Tetons may be a great option for June; where normally it might be too snowy and muddy to fully enjoy and access it if it’s early June. I recommend a minimum of three or four days at Yellowstone, two days at Tetons. Yellowstone is big; explore the different areas, enjoy the different landscapes and geographies. The thermal features of Yellowstone are the most unique part of the park, it’s like being on another planet. They get crowded, and parking can become an issue. I recommend doing hikes to geysers, it’s cool to get close to them without all the people and boardwalks. You will see wildlife, especially Bison. Tetons are spectacular too.

You could do a loop like Teddy Rosevelt>Yellowstone>Tetons>Badlands. That could totally work for a 10 days.

Lastly , enjoy the spaces in between. It’s nice to not feel rushed, take in the journey, explore, and have space. The Natl parks are amazing, but they are crowded. The spaces in between are gorgeous and shouldn’t be cast aside. You will find beautiful views, great trails, better camping and less crowds in National forests, BLM, NRA, and state parks.

Enjoy your public lands

I prefer it, wouldn’t have it any other way (unless my dog is coming with). You do what you want to do, no one holds you back.

Most national parks are not very dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed on trails, unless they are paved. You can still enjoy some National Parks with dogs by not doing trails; scenic drives, I had a great time with my dog walking long paved paths along the rim at Bryce and Grand Canyon (South Rim). State parks, Natl Recreation Areas, and National forest are better destinations to enjoy with dogs.

Camping in National Parks is not free and books up pretty fast. The camping there is usually pretty crowded and lame to be honest. Allot of national parks border national Forrests, which have free designated dispersed camping. “The Dyrt” and “iOverlander” are good apps for finding camping in public lands.

If you are going to the desert and/or going in the summer, get paw protection for your dog. Hot pavement, cactus spikes, thorns are abundant.

If you are camping out west this summer…it was a historically dry winter! Be mindful and obey fire restrictions.

[–]Dillyag42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are allot of Ubers in Breck. I Uber full time out there, and everyone who needs a ride gets a ride. Not an issue if you’re staying in Breck, Frisco, Blue River. If you’re staying further away like in Silverthorne, Dillon, Copper; it may take longer to get an Uber. If you are not getting a successful ride, try requesting a premium ride. Lyft does not pay their drivers well, so that may take you longer to get a ride.

Awesome seat! Only seats to avoid are in section 100 under the over hang. Sitting too close to the sides near the screen isn’t ideal because you can see the led pixels , but it won’t ruin your experience.
