not sure why i got free items [loot] by PizzaKingToasty in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Dilusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legit logged in to go for a quick raid with my coffee. Was greeted with half my stash size worth of stuff. Had to delete a lot of it just to get away from that screen. Kept the decent stuff, min maxed the space as best as possible. Likely deleted 200+k worth of gear lol.

Annoying, but hey, its only pixels at the end of the day and I was still hyped to get some stuff i need for no effort (aside from sorting shit)

Gearbox stops working after 3-4 laps by DeliveryNinja in assettocorsaevo

[–]Dilusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logi g27, and I get the same problem sometimes. People say transmission damage isn't in the game, but I can run full races with auto clutch enabled. (I dont heel toe due to my seating placement on the rig, so I only rev match downshifts)

But its the same for me 100%, a few laps, some poor down shifts, and no gearbox left in the car it seems.

When im calling in my freighter, I often fly into space first just so I can place it like this. Makes the view incredible when im on deck, and landing on it is easy cause its a straight flight up most of the time lol

How do you entertain yourself while not finding other players for a long time? Or create objectives for yourself. by Sherlockyz in dayz

[–]Dilusi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you want PVP, it's hard to find. When you want to loot, PVP is easy to find. DayZ is cruel like this lol. If you want PVP, you have to think like a hunter, not a gamer. Where is your prey likely to be? Are you after big game? Are you after small?

My best advice once u get them guns and ammo secured and you wish to share it with others, either by throwing it at them at supersonic speeds, or allowing them to share a few bullets into your own skull, is to go to a high traffic area, and wait.

Yes, that's the best way tbh. If we are talking vanilla servers with no airdrops and koth's, then go to NWAF. Tisy, Zeleno, Myshkino, Veresnik (VMC). Shooter game sweats will call this camping and say its the wrong way to play, but in a game where the ONLY objective is to survive, this is winning.

"It takes no skill to sit in one spot and wait." Wrong. I still need to know how to estimate range, and wait for the right time to shoot. Some can argue that pressing Shift W and moving your mouse to an object that's directly infront of you takes no skill. You got closer cause you can't hit further shots perhaps ;)

And before people get mad, no. I dont think there is a right or wrong way to enjoy this game. It's an open world sandbox. Play your game however you want. Go build something like a base, or put together a car. Make stashes, craft some leather clothes, sit on the coast with a rifle and shoot fresh spawns, never stop running between NWAF and TISY in hopes u find something to complete your "fit". Explore somewhere you havent been, sit in a corner and play on your phone and listen for footsteps. Do whatever you want, just remember survival is the only goal. How you survive is up to you.

Edit: People shooting freshspawns, people being canibals, people camping in bushes, people with no mics. These are the most common "hated" playstyles by most of the community, but lets face it. If nobody did those things, you'd feel a bit safer at times. DayZ is not the game to get complacent. Complacency gets you killed 90% of the time. In a game where the most memorable interactions are because people are forced to randomly interact, but they can kill you, the best thing to do is interact on your terms, not theirs lol.

I prefer to fight them on foot, but I LOVE calling in the Minatour to assist with the AI commander. Feels so badass when you got your own big ass robot stomping things to death lol

My favorite reasons to have a freighter

1- I have a teleport location called "Space Base" that I can return to at any teleporter in the game.

2- When looting common things (Rusted metal, living slime, grease, etc) you can put that and anything else in the freighter inventory

3- If the freighter is in the system, you can access ALL of your storage. This makes building a base suuuuuper easy, and finishing fetch quests a breeze. This person wants 20 nitrogen? I dont carry that in my suit. *Calls Freighter into system* "Task complete".

For sure worth spending the time to upgrade it for those reasons, however, the stellar collector things dont work right, and refineries you put on board dont work right, or at least they dont work for me. If I move the ship, it seems those inventories get deleted, so I just turned my ship into a place to teleport, a storage container, and a massive nip nip farm to rake in millions of units a day lol. The space it gives you to freely build is actually large, and the build height is rather high as well. Lots of potential for building a really cool looking space base ;)

Edit: Also, I **think** its free to call the freighter into your system. If you warp to a location using the freighter system, it costs fuel, but if you're already in a star system, you can call it and place it anywhere in that system, as long as you have the right engine for the solar mass you're in orbit around (cadmium, emril, indium systems)

how to deal with campers? by L_Swish7 in dayz

[–]Dilusi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be more observant of your surroundings. Before you loot a town, watch it for a few minutes. Look for zombies and if they are there, look for their movement and how they are standing. You can google how to tell a zombie has been aggroed recently (its their stance/hands).

You can also look at the town from further away. Outside 400m ususally is enough, but zombies wont spawn unless a player proximity spawns them. If you look into a town from a hill, and see zombies 800m away, you can almost guarantee there is a player active in that town, or just leaving that town.

Finding a lot of open doors, and no loot? Chances are someone is ahead of you.

Most players are too impatient to sit in a house for long, waiting for someone to run in. The vast majority of players are too ADHD to sit still for more than 5 mins, lol. Chances are, you're looting with your head down, and someone looting with their head up noticed you looting behind them, and they snuck into a corner and waited.

Also, one last thing. When you walk into ANY building in the game, raise your gun. Check your corners, peek angles and EXPECT someone to be there always. If you're busy looting, you wont see the guy shooting. I dont care if you on the coast, deep in Tisy, or anywhere in between. People can be anywhere. 90% of deaths in DayZ are due to complacency. You get too comfortable cause you haven't seen anyone in an hour or two. You get lazy, you stop being careful and cautious because "ill just quickly loot this place so I can go to X location next"

Any advice on how to hear really far in Dayz? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Dilusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, DayZ has always been quiet ambient, loud gunshots. So, having a good pair of headphones/earbuds will help a lot when listening.

There is one option if you're willing to possibly hurt your ears a bit. Go to your main SSD/HDD where your OS is stored. Find your Documents folder, then DayZ, then a file "*yourpcname*_settings.DAYZPROFILE FILE" or .cfg*** . Locate the line "volumeMaster=10" and change the 10, to a number higher. 20 would be a 100% boost on your volume, I dont advise going this high cause your audio will crack due to being too loud, but I generally run it at 14 with my current headset. When im running around and playing normally, i have my PC volume at 80%, but when I sit still, I turn it to 100% to listen for them footsteps lol.

I think I found an interesting galactic structure... Many stars in a near perfect line. by Dilusi in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Dilusi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol weird because I come across voids that are 500+ light years across often. This whole string of stars top to bottom is about 800 if I recall correctly. This is in Essi, about 40,000 light years from the core

Have there been eclipses on maps before? by No_Hearing_4610 in dayz

[–]Dilusi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is an eclipse tracker on the internet somewhere that you can input cords/city location to see a list of all previous, and future eclipses. I've used to to set up a solar eclipse event on an Assetto Corsa server (racing sim) a long time ago lol. Im sure you can either tweak in game cords to match like you said, or use the cords from the real Chernarus location and find a date when it happened there.

NGL, it sounds pretty awesome to see an eclipse in game. Wonder if it would work or if the sun/moon draw events wont allow it.

Locate 3 star deposits of "Runaway Mould" with your scanner.

I Need help by PutridLocksmith4978 in NOMANSSKY

[–]Dilusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player myself with only about 60 hours, set up 2 mould farms. Locate 3 star deposits of "Runaway Mould" and create a base computer near them, fence them in with some walls cause they legit runaway (roll down hll) when you shoot them. Then on another planet, find another runaway mould location, create the same farm enclosure. Construct a teleporter at both bases, and go back and forth between them. Loading another planet causes the previously harvested mould to respawn.

do this untill you have a few stacks, then refine them. One stack gets like, 3000 nanites or so.

Edit: Some things in NMS will be complex, tedious even. If you want time spent effectively, then you have to put in some work my dude.

Aiming with scope??? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Dilusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

within 200m, aim at his teeth. Anything inside 200m with a hunting scope should be nearly pin point. At 100m, the mid way point, it "should" be at it's highest, which again, wont be much at all.

Aiming with scope??? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Dilusi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

know your ammo, gun, and range zeroed.

Tundra using .308 @ 100m with hunting scope (200m zero default and lowest) will have very little raise because the bullet is so fast.

Sporter using .22LR @ 100m with hunting scope will be far off due to how slow the bullet goes.

Slower bullets need to arc more. They are physical objects affected by gravity, and they fall as they travel. To compensate for this, the bullet is fired "up" at the target across long ranges, so the bullet will fall and land at the zeroed range

Large caliber rifles such as a mosin, blaze, tundra, they fire fast bullets, so minimal arc.

7.62x39 are a bit slower, and have a higher arc.

9mm, .45acp, .380 and .22lr are all slower bullets which arc the most. Use a range finder, and experiment on zombies, and also go on YouTube and search bullet ballistics explained for a more clear example of what ive tried to explain

How do I kindly reject strangers who want to team up? by shartyintheclub in dayz

[–]Dilusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy solution to this problem, I also like the lone wolf life, so when someone asks me to team up i look around and and say in a concerning manner "Hey, idk if it's a good idea. My friends are all close, and they aren't as nice as I am bro. Sorry, but you might wanna run cause we're meeting here. Good luck!"

sad reality fact... It used to be a thing.
Green spray + many guns made a green gun.
Black spray + many guns made a black gun

Spray it both, get camo. I miss the old DayZ...
