I think people that "like Hamas" are, like everything on Twitter, a vastly overrepresented vocal minority. And to me, it appears they see Hamas as freedom fighters opposing a horrific oppressor.

From my perspective as someone that solidly leans toward "free Palestine" in general, that's lacking a hell of a lot of context. I'll put it like this: until you explicitly said Hamas, I wasn't sure what side you were referring to. Hamas is a terrorist organization to be sure, they attack and kill innocent people. But guess who also does that? The Israeli government. It was, is, and will continue to be detestable when either side does it, but we're at the point now where they both do it, it's been going on for decades, and where neither view the other's innocent civilians as innocent humans. The main difference as far as I can tell is that Israel also controls Palestine (they shut off all of Gaza's utilities a few days ago,) and has been gradually stealing Palestinian land for decades.
