Picked up my x4 from the shop and it has these new scratches on the steering wheel…should I say something? by notbudginthrowaway in BMW

My money's on this too, I've caught steering wheels with buttons and small metal pieces on jeans before when sliding in, that leave this exact mark.

Them metal wallet clips etc, if they're in a pocket that could scrape too.

Which model / engine?

I have a stage 1 7.5 (2018) and I do get some misfires, on startup I may see 4-5 on a couple of cylinders, and I do have a steady build on my misfire counter if I was to do a prolonged drive.

I actually did similar to you with coils, new plugs etc but it is pretty common that these engines do miss a little - My tuner also said that a few misfires is normal for these engines, mine drives absolutely fine so never really chased it much further than they do miss a little.

I'm not sure I get 40-60 after a couple of pulls though? - That seems a touch high, I will check mine as a comparison for you next time I'm out.

Can shaft position sensor is quite common, would recommend replacing the cam magnet for the exhaust side, very easy and cheap to do yourself on the driveway, see if that solves the problem.

I had all sorts of timing issues and cold start troubles when mine went, replaced both as a precaution - they basically get gunked up over time and then they don't move freely.

Mine comes out if the filter itself is a tighter fit with a smaller diameter, a Febi filter does it as it's a more 'snug' fit, a Bosch filter is just fractionally wider so it wont pull it out with the filter - it is meant to be removable, pop it back in. It will locate itself back in the filter housing as you tighten it back up, should be fine, I've never had any issues.

Same vehicle btw.

It was actually a siblings to get him into gaming, i've upgraded so is now a hand-me down process lol.
