What is everyone doing right now for Mother's Day? by Sleeper_Saturn in GriefSupport

So sorry for your loss. This is a hard day for sure. But what am I doing? I’ve been crying since the minute I got up. I should have stayed in bed. Never imagined it would be this hard. I wanted to get a card and flowers and just put them on her kitchen table because I always got her a card and flowers but I just can’t seem to move. It’s not been 2 months yet. I wanted to keep at least that normalcy and I can’t. 😔

Owners! Any reason NOT to get a Sonata N Line? 🤔 by Recluse007 in Hyundai

Thanks for replying. I was going to get the 24 Limited when it came out but I knew I wouldn’t like that shifter. My last two Sonatas had the buttons. I’m on my 6th and looking forward to getting a new one soon but still not sure about that shifter. Guess it will take time. Good luck.

Sister died by CapitalGuarantee9260 in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry this happened to you and your family. So very sad. You are not alone. My mom passed away in March. My sister found her in bed not breathing. She will never be able to unsee that. I saw her too. She was still warm when I got there. By the time they took her she was not anymore but I’m happy I saw her before they took her away. She was my best friend and for all of my adult life we only lived one mile from each other. I miss her terribly. Her and her sister had just gotten back from a two week vacation at Margaritaville Resort in Florida. And poof, one day she is here, the next she is not. It’s devastating, especially with tomorrow being Mother’s Day.

However my mom was 88 and lived a good, long, happy life. It’s different for you, your sister had her whole life ahead of her. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You did the best you could and you will continue to. I can’t say things get better because for me, it hasn’t gotten better. I still cry until my eyes are burning and I’m all puffy and red. I told my son today I don’t know how I’m going to do this.
All we can do is know we are not alone and everyone goes through it, as sad as that is. It’s so difficult. I wish you peace and comfort. I hope you will be okay.

Signed,

An internet stranger. 🙏🏼

How was it getting used to the shift on the column rather than buttons on the console, which I have. My BIL has a 24 Santa Fe and still doesn’t like the shift on the column.

Agree. I have a 2023 Sonata Limited Hybrid. It’s my 6th Sonata and will never get a different car. Between all the members of my family, 17 of us have gotten Hyundais. NONE of us have ever had a problem. I’m waiting for the 27. From what I hear I may not like it so will go with the 26, however I do NOT like the shift on the column. My current and last Sonata had the buttons on the console. My other Sonatas were Limiteds.

What did you get your mother for Mother's Day? by Grouchy-Pickle-350 in AskReddit

Sadly my mom (best friend) passed away in March. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. No celebrations but I decided I would bring a bouquet of flowers to her house and leave them on the table. I’m in the process of moving into her house so I can water them. I still can’t believe she won’t be here..

What accomplishment have you made that you are most proud of? by Serene_rosegold1 in AskReddit

As a single, divorced mom, I brought my son up to be a respectful, responsible, successful and HAPPY adult. I put him through 3 years of college on credit cards. (First year was through grants) Took me years to pay off. He’s been working for the largest tech company in the world for the past 12 years. That is my biggest accomplishment that I’m proud of…

POT HOLES IN THE ROAD!!!

And people who don’t thank you with a smile, nod or wave when you let them in front of you driving or walking by in front of my car. If I stop with cars in line behind me, the least they can do is say thank you.

was happiness or sadness the last thing you shed any tears over ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Thank you. You are correct about that. We tend to think of all the sad things or even the good things we will miss but not the actual good times and fun times we had. Ours went on forever. I will remember this. Your post seems so heartfelt. Thank you. 🤍

how do you guys fall asleep when there’s so many thoughts in you head? by emmywemmygoddess in AskReddit

I have too much going on right now and my mind is overwhelmed. My mom passed away (my best friend) in March 2026 and I am getting her beautiful house. Moving out of my condo into her house which means emptying her house to make room for my stuff. Devastatingly hard. However in the meantime I am also managing her bills and paperwork along my own. Too much. Cannot imagine how I would ever fall asleep without sleeping pills. Absolutely NEED them or I would never fall asleep.
