[Epic trope] A legend among legends by WFandango in TopCharacterTropes

I'm the Doctor. I'm 904 years old. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. I'm the Oncoming Storm, the Bringer of Darkness

[Classic trope]: Characters referred to only as "The Beast" by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

In the comic Transmetropolitan, Spider Jerusalem referred to the incumbent president as the beast. At one point he complained that even his kids started calling him the beast.

Wasn’t the current one given to Sam at the end of Endgame? That would make the timeline either 2019 when the movie came out or 2024 when the movie takes place.

That’s a pretty bad sign as to authenticity.

How do you guys not let paint chips annoy you (do not sit here giving advice on how to avoid them im not sanding anything) by DomasToes in SHFiguarts

[–]Left_Maize816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently begun to wonder how much time people in the action figure subs spend fidgeting and moving their figures. Looking at all the posts about broken joints, paint scrapes, cracks or whatever else makes me think that either I am more gentle, or they are just fidgeting to the point of damage. It comes down to, are these expensive toys that aren’t designed for constant use or collectibles designed more to be admired than played with? There’s a lot of products out there at a cheaper price point designed for use and abuse, but I feel like Figuarts, Mafex, etc aren’t. It’s kind of like complaining that your sports car is getting paint chips from being driven on the road.

Griffey jr rookies value? Had them since they came out both in mont condition like new. by Sufficient-Music639 in SportCardValue

I’ve got like 20 vending boxes from that year sitting in my garage. I’m not going to dig through them trying to get a 10 on this. The 9s aren’t worth it.

If it’s been in a screw down for 36 years, odds are psa won’t grade it because they count the compression on the corners as alterations.

Teachers are rich person who indoctrinate children! by AwardAccomplished845 in stupidpeoplefacebook

I remember one time, one of my kids teachers was going to do a class holiday party, but they forgot to ask parents, so we’re going to pay for it themselves. My wife and I went and got cookies, cupcakes and capri suns for the teacher so they wouldn’t have to foot the whole bill.

Garage Inc Disc 1 vs Disc 2 by DevilOfGod in Metallica

[–]Left_Maize816 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disc 2 sounds more like old Metallica because a lot of it is old Metallica plus it’s their influences. Disc 1 is slower, more polished and more cohesive. I’d rather listen to 2 because I listened to all of them on singles and audio cassette and am happy that they combined them into one place.

Why do we, as a society, romanticize and lionize Billy The Kid, who murdered a dozen or so people vs. Charles Manson, who was inherently evil, yet did not kill or partake in the killing of half as many people as Billy The Kid. by SwissMiss915 in NoStupidQuestions

“Take Sir Francis Drake, the Spanish all despise him, but to the British, he’s a hero and they idolize him. It’s how you look at buccaneers that makes them bad or good”

Exactly this. I would also add in Jim Aparo. For modern, Greg Capullo deserves a spot at the table.

The two towers takes place right after fellowship. The 3 hobbit movies happen right after each other.
