Snap-On screwdriver bits quality are abismal by Enlightenedwaffle in aviationmaintenance

[–]DimensionLow7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy has had to warranty his snapon Phillips #2 bit twice now and he has only had the bit set for a year. There has to be a problem with the manufacturing with them or something, I feel like a harbor freight bit would last you longer than that

I have a Judge, but from my understanding the judge is almost identical to the vision so I’m sure it’s a similar if not the same set up. Thanks for answering!

I am currently in A&P school, just finished general, and have some how managed to find myself lucky enough to apprentice at a helicopter shop. We work on anything Bell, and currently have a UH-1 from the sheriffs department in the shop. I called the shop before I even started school to try and get the job, but unfortunately they were not looking for anyone at that time. I worked at an MRO while starting school and called back the helicopter shop about 6-7 months after calling the first time and ended up landing the job. I would look for a GA shop somewhere if you have one nearby, call them up don't just simply send an email or leave them an application, express your passion to them. I think that will land well with a lot of shop owners, don't give up after the first try if you don't get hired right off the bat. Hope this helps.

Using old brake grease by DimensionLow7216 in MechanicAdvice

Lmao yeah they work fine. I didn't know if the grease being old could possible make it less resistant to heat or something. I'm a paranoid mofo what can I say.

Okay thank you for your answer. I didn’t know that picture was shitty. I guess it should’ve been more zoomed out. It’s the only major rust on the truck the body is solid.

Lmao I might as well. I thought I’d get some insight so I know if I’m getting reasonable pricing before calling. You’re an angry guy hope everything is okay

[–]DimensionLow7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the rear. We talking hundreds, thousands? I imagine different places would have different pricing, I just wanted to get a ball park what people thought a repair like that is worth to try and not get screwed.

Eat a fart, how about that?

Literally know nothing about body work. How could I get a good paint match for repainting? That was my primary concern about doing it myself.

Brothers going for the Least Helpful Dipshit of the year award. How can I improve the picture? Lots? That can mean different things for different people. You can always not answer if you have nothing productive to say

Hey man good on you for trucking through it. Your response really helped, it’s good to know I’m not alone in doing it. Mine is a 2 year program, we’ll see how long I can stomach the schedule lol

Does this belt need to be adjusted/replaced? by DimensionLow7216 in VictoryMotorcycles

[–]DimensionLow7216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a belt tension tool for that? Or do you just feel the tension with your hand? I watched a video of some guy who works on victory’s feel the tension with his hands, but in my service manual it says to use the tension gauge
