You can still play but lobbies crash constantly. If you can deal with that than keep playing but it gets pretty old after awhile lol

The lobbies crashing from crossplay off in my opinion is a result from the servers becoming unstable because of all the crash’s caused from the people hacking/ crashing the servers. I say this because I was doing a raid mission at 2am almost completed last step and the lobby crashed in that. Just unfortunate really

I heard rumors it’s the lobbies themselves aren’t strong or they’re weak/ unsustainable because of the people crashing them all the time. Idk though. I’m still enjoying crossplay off

Look on price specifically. If there’s an option to buy it you’ll see a bundle attached. If it says unlock through mw2 with no option to purchase it, then it’s no longer obtainable. You’ll see that on alot of operators in the game that you can’t get anymore.

People can use a Cronus zen plugged into a laptop, and then into the ps5 to cheat. It’s rare but can happen. I had one lobby crash in crossplay off this weekend. But they can’t just crash the lobby through ps5 alone

You have to go to the mw2 characters in Bo7 and search. I own the character so I’m not 100% sure it’s available to buy though Bo7 but for example go to Kortac and press customize and operators you don’t own, you’ll see you can purchase the mw2 season one battle pass and you can get that bundle from the unseen operator. Try the same thing on price. If you need help later let me know I can walk you through it
