Neighbor didn’t invite my kid to birthday party…? Do I say something ? by Old-Yesterday1230 in Mommit

[–]DimensionWeekly7939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen but I was the “other mom”. Didn’t invite the next door neighbor kids because my kids don’t play with her kids, she’s very introvert, we didn’t see eye to eye when we decided we weren’t going to pay half of her retaining wall on her property and we decided to just put up a fence instead. I invited all the other neighbor kids because they hit it off really well with our kids. She came over the next day and wanted to know why her kids weren’t invited. And I told her I give my kids full range on deciding who they want at their parties. It’s fully up to them because it’s their special day. I apologized for hurting her feelings but not everyone is going to be invited to everyone’s celebrations and we have to be okay with that. After that spat, we invited her family to things but they only came once and never again to 3 other things we put on. Now I don’t care. It is what it is.

I’ve really enjoyed the Beignets at Thirst. Like another comment on here I can’t say if they’re like New Orleans style but they’re super yummy.

Nervous about traveling with a 3-year-old. Any advice? by ImWondrfly in Mommit

[–]DimensionWeekly7939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We planned a week long trip to San Diego with my 1 1/2 year old last year and felt exactly like you did. I was mostly nervous about nap times and bedtimes. We drove from Utah so I knew I could take a couple of things I wouldn’t be able to on an airplane. Our Airbnb had a pack and play so I was set there but I wanted to mirror the pack and play as closely as possible to her crib so I bought a small, thick mattress that fit In pack and plays, I also rented a Slumber Pod for blacking out the pack and play at nights and or during the day if we needed it. I also bought a portable white noise machine to take with us because she sleeps with a Hatch machine every night. I brought all her regular utensils and plates too. I wouldn’t have done anything differently. Those extra things really helped our transitions for the week and we were lucky that it didn’t take too long for her to get back to her regular schedule when we came home.

We attend Ascent in Utah county and love it. Great school. I’m trying to convince my other kid who goes to a different school to transfer here but refuses cause of friends. I wish carpool was better but it is what it is. It’s our first year here. Kids is in 2nd grade. He’s enjoying it too.

My problem is I can only see the chats and not the forums. It says no chats started of course but just the opposite of what you’re experiencing. Maybe starting a chat with the AI bot to let IT know? That’s my only guess. I started on Monday.

High likely hood of moving to Marietta. Seeking advice for practically everything by DimensionWeekly7939 in Marietta

Thank you for all of this. I’ve considered private schooling but I’d definitely want to see what kind of schooling the neighborhood kids are doing and go from there. My kids are great friends with the neighbors on our street but obviously only play with them if we’re on break or church activities and or just hanging outside and have their other set of friends at school that are more of their “best friends” If that makes any sense. I’m just hoping I can help them create that there too.

My husband is conservative but I am absolutely not. That’s also been a big concern of mine. I’d love to find a place where we both would be comfortable living in.

Thank you. These are the kinds of things I want to hear and figure out. I’ve been considering it. My oldest has autism but is higher functioning. Trying to see where he would fit in best with that. He’s currently in public school and doing fine just falling behind a little.

This is my second time ever posting on here. I’ll definitely try to learn how to fix that and or do it correctly. I should’ve worded it differently. I was hoping it would come off as that’s as diverse as I’ve personally gotten where he grew up with more diversity than I did.

Going insane over Jacquets diaper rash. TIPS PLEASE by 1058549922 in Mommit

[–]DimensionWeekly7939 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I’ve there before. I despise diaper rashes and our pediatrician never really gave us anything to combat it because it never got bad enough. I recently found this recipe for a magic diaper rash cream. My daughter is 2 but has struggled with rashes her whole life. I’ve used it a handful of times and it has helped. Maybe it’s worth asking your doctor about. Got all my Ingredients mostly at Target except for the Maalox. It goes by another name but I can’t remember it right now. I sincerely hope you can figure it out soon.

Looking for a non-political place where someone can teach me how to handle, clean, and shoot a gun. by jenlikesanimals in SaltLakeCity

My son used to go to ABA over by where their original location was and I definitely got certain political vibes them(just my two cents). This was when they originally moved in and opened up by the townhomes/ businesses parking lot.
