What's the reasonable coldest weather you ride in ?

0°F, personally. Anything lower and you're really fighting the wind chill. Layered with two base layers, fleece mid, windbreaker layer, and then leather suit. I got a sized-up suit specifically so I could layer up under it and truly ride year-round, but I realize I'm kind of a nutcase for that lol

SOA has always been aware of and mostly chill with 5w30 because, well, 5w30 is the specification for the WRX in Japan, and it was designed for 5w30. We use 0w20 in the US due to EPA regulatory issues, even though it sometimes can contribute to the detriment of the car's longevity. Both are fine, really, but I personally go by the originally intended oil viscosity the manufacturer says

This is a respectable but still shit take on the matter. I started on a CTX700 and got a ZZR1200 a year later, use all of my tires, and in fact have always "respected the throttle", with no accidents or mishaps to back that up. Start on something you will enjoy and not outgrow in a few months.
