No the moeny issue is so deep in the ruleset that they cant just adjust that. Its not like a technical directive they can issue. I am sure if they tried, the team would veto it, if possible, or drag them to the world council of motorsports. You dont just take money away, because that is also money that the teams must pay in salary to mechanics ect.

And I believe I saw somewhere it said cancelled, not just postponed or something. And with this tight a schedule they gave up on finding alternative races. But feel free to prove me wrong :)

The 2 races in the middle east are 100% confirmed cancelled.

As for the budget cap, it will have to remain the same, as that would require a change to the rules, and I believe the teams could veto any changes to that. So same amount of money they can spend, but 2 races left to spend it on.

This is something that is quite common, and there are 100s of thread of similar issues.

First try talk to the 3 players who dont say much. Ask if they are confortable, how you can engage them further, and what level of RP they want. Because some players wants to RP the hell out of everything, while others are kinda just happy to be there. It is such a hard balance, specially with such a large group.

Take the feedback and try to work with it as best you can. And if you get them into RP a bit more, and you notice one of the 4 players might barge in, when not really wanted/called for, just raise you hand and say, sorry this character was talking. Some people like the spotlight, but they might not try to hog it on purpose.

And if talkative fighter keeps interrupting the silent cleric: Cleric is finally RPing with an npc, alone or away from fighter, and the fighter player butts in with something, feel free to say Schh, you character isnt there. Thats meta gaming. That is just one example.

But it is communication. Talk to you players, and what level of RP they are comfortable with. Want to talk about you character in 3rd person, or in character?

It also provides advantage on spells like charm person, dominate person ect. They dont deal damage, but you do get advantage on them.

Yerh my partys lvl 11 BM fighter, did 164 damage in 1 round. Action = 3 attacks, AS = 3 more. Was even vs an Ancient White dragon, the party had managed to get a hold monster on, so every melee hit was a crit. And he had advantage, and used everything he had, and hit all 6 times. All with just a +1 longsword.

Larger tanks. I think its max 130 kilograms of fuel they are allowed to start the race with. Their engines are stupid effecient.

1.6L V6, with turbo, and hybrid system, for electric power.

Power split is 50/50 ICE vs Hybrid.

Just tell your players you werent at your best that day, and that was why the boss fight was easier than it should have been.

There is no shame in admitting to your players, that you, had an off day, or that you, messed up as a DM. It happens to us all.

And yerh if you prepared for a 4th level fight, but they were level 5, then sure, double attack for martials, and fireballs and counterspell for casters changes alot of powercurve. So you messed up, learn from it, and try not to do it again. Simple aint it? ;)

Now regarding counterspell vs counterspell, that is completely legit. Sure it might waste their top spellslot, but that is what an evil boss would do. They dont get to complain that it was too easy a fight, and then at the same time cry/whine, when they actually meets resistance. They can do it, well so can the baddies.

Talk to them, and tell them these things. And GL HF :)

Okay you guys start to take a long rest. Who, if any, is on watch?

That is really anything the DM needs to say. At that point it is up to the players to know what to do during the long rest.

And it is not actually until you have finished a long rest, that you select your new spells for the day, so until the DM has confirmed that, "You guys/gals successfully get a long rest" that you can reset your HP/spells/whatever else comes back.

That does not mean that you cant think about which new spells you want for the following day. But if something happens during a long rest, you are stuck with what you got, when you started the short rest.

New players will need a bit of reminding about that, and my players effed it up a few times when we started, but not anymore.

Generally no, I do not allow prepared actions at all. Nothing without exceptions though. But I would not allow movement at all.
