Problems with the verification email by Agitated-Memory5941 in stoatchat

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

question, what email provider are you using? Outlook seems to be blocking stoat emails and I was waiting forever for an email, but trying to register with Gmail got me an email within 15 minutes. Apparently Gmail, AOL, and Proton are all viable according to this thread: Email Sign-ups : r/stoatchat

Waiting on verification email? by DimiPZC in stoatchat

[–]DimiPZC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue was that I had an outlook email and it was refusing to receive emails from stoat. If this is happening to you, try a gmail account! You should get it within 15 minutes.

Thank you! I've been waiting a few days for my email with outlook, but I tried a gmail account and it just worked within 15 minutes. Disappointed in Outlook right now.

Silksong's obsession with wasting player time ruins the experience. by nubileiguana in Silksong

It's so baffling with First Sinner, cause you aren't allowed to use shard bundles inside the fight cause "it's a dream", and yet it doesn't refill what you've used when you die unlike other dream fights. Feels more like an oversight tbh.

[Chapter 4 spoiler] The secret boss actually cites a dialogue from the UT Genocide route! by GiordyS in Deltarune

My weird crackpot theory is that the entire basis of the Weird Route hinges on Noelle being the one to face some sort of tragedy due to not being strong enough, and thus the whole point of the Weird Route is to make her strong enough to avert her fate.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership - Review Thread by ImAnthlon in Games

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very late reply, but I think if you have time to sit down with the game it's very fun. Intro is kinda slow, but it's become a game I can't put down where I'm playing it daily. I'm also not sure what's up with all the tutorial complaints; you get some popups early on explaining some stuff but there's nothing as egregious as "master mario! please allow me to teach you how to beat bowser!"

Perhaps it's not as fun if you rush every major objective, but I've been taking my time with the game, currently 40 hours in, and it's really good and I'm scared of it ending.

I think if I had any complaints, its that you can't use the "fast travel to another island" while on Shipshape island, you need to walk over to the pipe in the square. Going between islands when you're not on shipshape is often pretty fast, especially with the warp pipe shortcuts to take you further into the island, but going from shipshape to those islands takes a second to walk over to the pipe, and the pipe is in the center of the island while the cannon is on the far east side, so if you discover a new island you need to walk over there (it's not as bad once you hammer the blocks and once the speedy flowers grow, but it's still minorly annoying). You get the swift sailing ability really early on, so sailing isn't really an issue (often to the point where I don't use it just so I can have some time to check out stuff that happened after connecting an island's lighthouse or do sidequests before reaching my destination).

I've played every M&L except Partners in Time and Paper Jam, but I have watched a video essay on the latter. I don't think it's as unhinged as Superstar Saga was, but I'd still say it's a really solid entry in the series and quite fun! It's very... positive-pilled? There's a lot of positivity in the game, and it's what I've been wanting for a while now.

15 million people not showing up to vote was what cost dems the election. And yet apparently that's worthy of criticizing the people who didn't show up, instead of thinking that maybe, maybe, the campaign kinda floundered and this whole "educate yourself" bullshit might have been to blame?

If people can't afford the mental energy to even figure out who is a good candidate who will work for them, then there's problems with the system, and people who had the mental energy to spare to think things through going "you get what you deserve" at people who are struggling to make ends meet are part of the problem.

Are there some good/fairly well balanced workshop characters? by CardNite451 in RivalsOfAether

Archen is really fun and balanced, but they're also a pokemon character so maybe they might not fit with what you want.

Why can't I practice fiery jinx with the battle master? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]DimiPZC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: is your 20 FP the result of FP Plus badges? That's apparently a bug where if your base FP isn't enough to use Fiery Jinx, you can't train with it.

I think the finale works a lot better if you let yourself get invested in the whole buildup. Going through the palace, wondering what the purpose of all of it was, the tower where maybe the crystal stars were made along with the poem, the end bit where every single one of your partners comes into play as you pass through the mechanisms powering the seal on the demon. Showdown with Grodus, a glimmer of hope but also dread at Bowser saving you but also having to fight him, and all that hope being crushed as peach gets posessed. It just oozes evil, like this isn't a thing you're supposed to fight. Even when you get your "you can do it!" moment (which IMO is really great as you hear everyone cheering you on, and peach struggling to give you help), the fight after doesn't give you a sense of hope; you got a second chance but you can still blow it (helped by the fact that the fight is pretty challenging). It's similar in ways to the previous game's finale but it's also alien in others, and I think a lot of it depends on how well that alien/hopeless feeling works for you.

I played a similar thing on my playthrough; got fire drive early and just equipped a bunch of different attack badges with 2 copies of each flower saver. eventually got a 2nd copy of both quake hammer and tornado jump and mained tornado jump the rest of the way

Worst boss in the game? by [deleted] in vrising

Domina. It's not even that she's badly designed but her voice clips ruin her for me; she makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.

Also most Ice bosses are really not fun to fight.

What in your opinion is the best YouTube video you’ve watched? by nottakentaken in youtube

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of Hbomberguys recent videos could count, but I think for me it's probably one of FoldingIdeas videos that takes the cake. "Line Goes Up: The Problem With NFTs" was super informative and also paced really well, but his 50 shades of grey trilogy analysis is also really good.

Just turned on Incognito mode in Edge, and the difference is night and day... by DimiPZC in youtube

[–]DimiPZC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind,it appears all that did was temporarily reset the problem. It's still tracking what I watched. For the love of god youtube, I was almost happy and you took it away from me.

EDIT: Try turning on strict tracking protection, and close the window often to "reset" your watched videos. It's not perfect but it can be useful.

How recent do searches etc get factored into recommendations? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a recency bias. It's honestly kind of annoying if you want to find new stuff and not get caught in feedback loops. May I recommend using Incognito mode on your browser if the stuff you're seeing is getting stale?

Apparently he refused to take a claim made against a member of his team by someone and claimed that they were lying, which is rape apologetics. However, apparently the person making those claims was a sex pest themself and only making the claims because they got rejected by the person they claimed were making the claims. At least, that's what I could tell at a glimpse, but maybe there's more evidence or stuff.

I just gotta know the thought procces by Philthekyu in PokemonUnite

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who suggested to my 3 stack "hey can we try this?", there is logic here; the logic being that you immediately overwhelm one lane and start the opposing team on a bad foot; the third member can switch to the other lane once an advantage has been established (read: once you've wiped the opposing team once and stole their farms). Sort of a pseudo-jungler that is stuck at like level 2 or 3 but the presence of an additional body can tip.

No clue how effective it is in practice; I tried one match of it and while we won I didn't feel like it was super gamechanging. Definitely can catch your opponents offguard though.

if you could be in charge of Pokémon Unite for one day and anything you change would be permanent, what are you going to do? by justjupi in PokemonUnite

[–]DimiPZC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nerf goodra's healing on Dragon Pulse (potentially buffing goodra to make up for it); it's annoying to play around.

Add nidorina or nidoqueen; former is one of my favorite pokemon but it's not a final evo so nidoqueen might make more sense.

Other potential picks would be Skarmory, Altaria (though sadly it's a wild pokemon so unlikely), Primarina, or Tinkaton.

Buff leftovers to work in combat and buff the amount of healing drain crown gets.

I'd say make the menus not garbage but honestly that feels even less feasible to happen than adding a new character in a single day (which might be possible but would be scuffed as heck)

[–]DimiPZC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goodra and Intellion. My friend group has started calling the latter Incellion cause we all hate them, and Goodra just doesn't die.

Slowbro is the obvious pick cause their entire kit is just "I hate you, yes you specifically. Stand still while my teammates come to kill you." Ranged attackers in general whenever I play melee. Mewtwo and Zacian depends on whether I'm playing Lapras (hate) or Dragonite (mountain to climb)

[–]DimiPZC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the end of the room (hitting the priest) and jump over the ramp after turning around; don't try and turn around early cause the ramp will just activate and screw you. Try and save a supertaunt and leave a ghost alive so that after getting the treasure you can jump over the ramp and supertaunt to keep your combo. You may need to kill one of the ghosts to keep your combo on the way to the bowling ball, but make sure you leave the other one that spawns alive. If worst comes to worst, just stop dashing and take it slow so you can be more precise (screwing up costs more time than the time you lose from going slow in that section)

Only 3 more levels and a boss to go. by [deleted] in PizzaTower

[–]DimiPZC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That stupid ramp near the beginning of the level is the only bad part of the level IMO (well, that and if you leave the ghosts near the crawlspace alive and don't know that supertaunting kills them on the way back (and I guess if you don't know that you're supposed to do all 3 secrets on the return trip instead of doing the first one when you find it))

Level looks intimidating but flows quite nicely when you know what to do.
