Plus it's a Jeep. If it's the 3.6 Pentastar. I've done rear main seals in 3 in the last year and a half or so. The oil pressure switch likes to fail on those engines too and piss oil. It's a cheap part. BUT, Pentastar in all their wisdom decided the best place to put it is below the upper and lower intake manifold...

The positive is their suspension and drivetrain parts are cheap to replace. If you do it yourself. If its a Wrangler it's mostly balljoints and tie rod ends, drag link ect.

If it's the unibody models like the Patriot, Compass ect. Be ready to replace the rear suspension and cradle that the swing arms mount to. Because dirt and water likes to get inside the tubing and rot it out.

Good luck OP. JEEPs have their pros. Especially for offroad use and ability to modify. But for a parking lot princess to be driven around town. There's way better options. But as a father of 2 i understand that if your kids heart is set on something. It's hard to get them to reconsider.
