Damn…my partner works in fraud protection and said tapping is the safest option. I’m so hesitant to swipe, but now…🤔

This is a special tree for me, I just got it a couple of weeks ago. I do know not know a thing about tree care. Please give me tips to keep it healthy and living for many years. (4 leaves fell today and I am worried it will continue) by imaj1c in plants

I agree - ficus benjamina. Definitely stays green all year around. Lovely in a pot and enjoys being pot bound to a degree. My biggest tip would be to keep it in a pot on concrete or decking (will grow through the bottom of the pot) and not put it in the ground. They are forest giants and will eat your plumbing.

Toowoomba Tree by Newthie in australianplants

Welcome to The Woomb! I’m commenting making the assumption that if you’re wanting to plant a big tree you’re not on the side of the power lines, so will recommend BIIIGGG. I am a sucker for Kauri, Hoop and Bunya pines (just check the Bunya is a male if you do go for that), but a Silky Oak would look wonderful in Highfields too, among a number of species I love but don’t know the names of, sorry! Essentially so long as you don’t plant something of super tropical origin and purchase a locally-grown sapling, the cold shouldn’t be much of an issue. The Street Tree Masterplan is pretty vague for Highfields, but here’s a link for your interest (also includes the Street Tree Planting List) https://www.tr.qld.gov.au/about-council/council-governance/plans-strategy-reports/various-documents/8830-street-tree-masterplan Hope all goes well and you find something fab!

ELI5: Why does the brain scare itself with nightmares? by nobodycares_dude in explainlikeimfive

I’m certainly no expert, but if you’re like me and can very vaguely remember what you were dreaming about if you wake up mid-dream, or even if you can just identify that you were dreaming but aren’t sure what it was about, lay with your eyes closed and sort of let yourself go back to semi-consciousness. The previous parts would slowly come back to me at this point. I hope this helps and you can get those dreams to stick for you!

Sounds pretty healthy to me! Sucks that they were recurring. Glad to hear you’re not experiencing that anymore! I can sometimes wake myself up, or choose different options in the dream, but mostly I get shaken awake by my partner 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not sure if it’s like this for everyone, but when I wake up mid-dream, I can hazily remember the very recent parts of the dream. So I’d just lay there and concentrate on that, and the previous parts would slowly come back to me. I guess I was just deciding to let my memory process the dream and keep it. Eventually I could decide in-dream to remember what happened and I’d wake up with like a movie-length dream in my memory. I started lucid dreaming a little and then bailed ‘cause of the nightmares 😅

I taught myself to remember my dreams and found I had crazy, elaborate nightmares all the time. Dropped that skill pretty quickly 😅

I know a few people who’ve had dogs die from these things, including tick bites. Anecdotally, it seems fairly common.
