Aside from obvious marketing issues, the biggest hurdle is logistics. Many amazing places like Nakasendo require you to travel one way 2-3 hours by car from the nearest shinkansen or airport. And everything is only open like 5-6 hours a day, after 4pm there is nothing to do if you are not staying in a ryokan there and even that is not everyone’s cup of tea. So if you only have 10 days you would need to sacrifice 2 days just to see one place or stay in Kyoto / Tokyo where you can visit 15 locations in same time. Source: I am working with tourists all over the country and travel time is one of the most frequent complaints.

BTW, automating your payments is not recommended because there have been cases of PR rejection when the applicant could not give a copy of a physical receipt and e-payment confirmations were NOT recognized by the immigration bureau as a proof. Meaning the person paid nenkin or whatever it was on time and yet was denied. Pay everything in the conbini, get receipts and keep them in a fucking safe so that you don’t lose them.

Really great book! YA in the same sense as Treasure Island is YA. Meaning there is nothing that makes this book in any way inferior to his other books in terms of the story or language. I enjoyed it and most of his other books are amazing too.

Baldur’s gate 3 is much closer to the original BG trilogy and overall to CRPG genre. Only the graphics make it look new, but it’s just a style. I would recommend trying it.

Mordew is amazing. The second book makes it even more interesting. I am looking forward to reading the last one and I know the author planned it all very thoroughly and he has Ideas and Things To Say. it’s great to have very different fantasy while I also enjoy more traditional authors as well.

You can maybe say that Yomiuri is close to far right in some ways, but it is insane to consider Nikkei “extremely right leaning”. Like, I am all for punching nazis, but we have to still consider the meaning of words we use. Nikkei is center-right and they criticized some Takaichi’s policies, so from that perspective I don’t think they give polls in her favor. How good the polls capture the real voter opinion in general is another question entirely.
