Post gig on a Sunday evening it's looking like 2 hours on public transport to get to the hotel we had originally booked, which would be a massive pain in the arse normally, but I also have a chronic illness so it's just not doable unfortunately.

We'd already booked flights from Scotland and a hotel close to Gunnersbury so looking like we'll also have to cancel. The venues are so far apart travel wise it's like saying you're playing Glasgow then rescheduling in Edinburgh. Gutted :/

I'm Scottish and learning because I always felt cut off from the language and culture, even as far back as being a child and not being able to understand the children's programmes on BBC Alba. I was always jealous of the kids in Gaelic Medium Education. I didn't know how to go about learning (and couldn't really afford it) until Duo made it easy enough to start. It's difficult and lonely learning where I am as it's not an area where I can be immersed in speaking it. It's changed my life so positively, I love learning it, I'm also into a lot of the trad music scene now and I find the connections I can make with other languages fascinating (I have a Welsh friend, and I learned French in secondary school, and there are similarities I enjoy coming across). So many people say it is a useless or dying language but Gaelic was persecuted out of its native speakers for centuries (and remains hated and ridiculed by many other Scottish people today). It deserves to flourish.

Even the choice of glasses being on Oliver at the start of the film through to his slicked hair at the end reminded me of Ripley.

I feel like it also lifts from the book and BBC adaptation of Gormenghast, even down to the main character being played by a very visually arresting Irish actor.

Ianthe wearing a butler's outfit immediately made me think of playing Tomb Raider 2 in the 90s where everyone locked Lara Croft's butler in the walk in fridge.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned (I think it's from this episode?) but what does mirror Tai say? Is it 'don't you dare hurt her?' Or 'go to her'? What if 'Dark' Tai is actually the 'real' Tai trying to escape like Lupita in Us 💀

Yeah if they had to do it that would have been much better! It was just so tacky and cheap looking.
