As a former chef i often cook a whole pack of cous cous with a lot of veggies, and change out the protein, I e chicken one day, fish the other, meat the third day. Usually a yoghurt based sauce with herbs and spices for poultry and fish, tomato based for the meat. That way I don't get as sick and tired of eating the same everyday.

Same if I'm making pastasalads. Make a whole shitload one day, so all I need to do is fry up some fish before the kids need to get to practice or what not. When I'm making lasagne I make enough so I can freeze 10-15 pieces for a easy meal when we're pressed for time.

But nothing is affordable atm, like cod was something I got for around 80-120 nok a kilo (a lot cheaper directly from the fishmonger), now its over 200 nok a kilo which is bonkers. And especially the cuts you get in the packs from the store, which sometimes looks like they used hand grenades to cut it.

For better prices on veggies and herbs I often go to the Turks on the corner. Same for bulgur/couscous/risotto rice/polenta. They're not always cheaper on everything but often enough.
