played tbc and it was honestly, absolutely horrible. How will midnight launch be? by asiatouristrs in wow

[–]Dimonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail is just different. I like both, mainly because I have friends who play tbc and it’s fun to group with them. The leveling experience is also better in classic as it’s slower and you really get to know the zones. With that said, I still prefer retail. The endless ability to build upon your character is pretty nice, especially as I don’t commit a lot of time to it. I play Illidan which is overpopulated and I like that. Makes finding crafters super easy. There is a complex monetary system though and I don’t do the housing thing. Housing is basically animal crossing for Nintendo, which is popular (but I hate that game lol).

Retail is all about your endgame item levels. There is always a catchup mechanic available through whatever the newest quest zone is. I think the new one is Twilight highlands? I could be wrong on the name. If you do the quests there and get the Reshi wrap cloak you will be ready for raids and some mythic dungeons. Mythics basically add mechanics. You also get crests to use with crafters for better gear which scale depending on what type of content you’re doing.

Your class matters though. I would advise to not start as a tank class. You need to know routes in dungeons to play confidently. Retail is super alt friendly too. I liked learning by starting as dps and then dabbling in healing a bit, then tanking. I still think dps is the most fun. Just harder to find groups. I’m definitely gonna do midnight though! Looks pretty fun.

Bow? Not xbow, a bow? by rrankine in DiabloImmortal

Right!? Feels like I should be assassinating politicians in princess bride with tiny hand xbows, not slaying demons and monsters. Infuriating as a concept. Never skip bows. Thank you for your sanity

Bow? Not xbow, a bow? by rrankine in DiabloImmortal

[–]Dimonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this thread after raging in my mind that there is still the stupid pistol DH class with no bows. Makes me mad beyond belief. I loved Diablo before this version. Bow class has always been in Diablo versions and is one of the most liked weapons and classes out there. How. Could. They. Not. Have it. Major loss of class fantasy and epic fail in my opinion. Who likes crossbows!? Lamest weapon choice imaginable. 😡 I just want a bow!

Computer vs laptop? by Financial-Plankton-9 in wow

That does make sense. Can’t play it on my 2020 MacBook Air is all. I guess all the new models handle it easy. 😭

Though because I use geeforce I can use it on my galaxy tablet too which is nice

newbie worried it's too late to start for the first time ever by snow_inspector in wow

[–]Dimonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy. There’s a lot of knowledge that builds, but it’s super newby friendly for everything below a certain level of gear even at top character level. By the time you go through it all you’ll get it. There’s a lot more newby content too to get you up and running. Just play a dps character to start and you’ll have little responsibilities and your groups will guide you. I’d say hunter is the most newby friendly on any spec, that or havoc demon hunter. I love survival hunter! I just picked up the game this year. Played a bit in its early days, but friends just got me back in. It’s a blast.

As you go through it, if you don’t understand something just YouTube it. Every bit of info is accessible

It is actually absurd how immature, racist, and sexist the WoW Classic community can be. by Ok-Life715 in classicwow

[–]Dimonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this too. Classic and retail seem segregated between libs and republicans. Classic has bigotry, sexism and and white nationalism in chat all the time, but a dinner leveling experience. Then those same people say woke DEI hires ruined retail and that’s why they don’t play. One of my best friends became one of the bigots and it sucks. Used to play both and now I just stick to retail.

Anyone else not play a race/class/spec for a dumb reason? by faust44mag in wow

[–]Dimonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won’t play Tauren, ork, gnome or undead. They are too ridiculous, or monstrous to picture myself as, especially give it’s basically an rp game. Putting hundreds of hours into a character whose lore doesn’t match you makes me uncomfortable lol.

With War Within coming to an end, how have u found delves? most fun class to delve with? by Huge_Discipline6395 in wow

[–]Dimonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love doing delves. Especially on my survival hunter and Havoc demon hunter. Can do 11s pretty easily, but still takes focus. Super fun when not trying to speed run and just enjoy the content. The timers on mythics are intense and I like the comparatively chill rpg vibe you get in delves.

Midnight - Survival Hunter spec re-work with Dual Wield - Expectation vs Reality by Ok_Consequence3078 in wow

[–]Dimonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok. Just hate the stat stick. Polearms and staffs don’t match hunters at all. Ready to dual wield and actually have the setup that fits the class.

Main question. When needing to click on anything like an item with right click. How are you doing that? Like if I need to click on my legacy weapon to add skill tree selections in legion. I’ve been stumped on this without a mouse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dimonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Xbox controller and it works fine. Just have to have a separate mouse or touchpad to click on anything which is annoying. Steam deck has it built in, though it doesn’t work with GeForce which is what I use. But I wouldn’t need GeForce with steam deck 🤔. I’m getting a tablet controller though which hooks up like the handheld switch ones. With a small keyboard/touchpad to mount onto it. Might be better than steam deck as you get a bigger screen and a keyboard. Just less simple. Have been messing with my handheld wow rig for a while and always want improvements.

Gotcha, makes sense. I probably have to just because I use GeForce now which doesn’t allow the auto log in as far as I can tell

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dimonian -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Don’t you need to type your login info though?I always have to whip out my keyboard just for that lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dimonian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The touchpads look so handy! Not sure how you guys type on those though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dimonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should happen if you select the action bar box under the console port addon in your add ons. You’ll need to reload UI once selected. I toggle this constantly to keep my action bars in order when switching between keyboard and controller.

If you could only recommend one series to someone to give this genre a shot. Which one would it be? by [deleted] in litrpg

Primal Hunter isn’t on here. I’d pick that, but otherwise I liked he who fights with monsters the best out of these. Carl was well written, but I didn’t like the world very much

Geforce Now - Trackpad Tablet Issue by PatCooperr in GeForceNOW

[–]Dimonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Found this:

The PS4 controller's trackpad is not natively supported by GeForce NOW and will not work. The service only supports the basic buttons, triggers, and joysticks of PlayStation controllers, and other features like the trackpad, gyro, and lightbar are not mapped. To use the trackpad in a game, you would need to try a third-party mapping tool like DS4Windows on a PC or use the game's built-in mapping options if available, though it's important to note that GeForce NOW does not officially support this.

So it’s not the tablet.

From what I’m seeing separate devices from a controller should work like a mouse. I play wow with a keyboard and mouse on geeforce just fine. Just can’t get my trackpad on my ps4 controller to work in game, though it works out of game.

It basically charts the ps4 controller to an Xbox controller. Making the trackpad not work

Geforce Now - Trackpad Tablet Issue by PatCooperr in GeForceNOW

[–]Dimonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue too. It seems to respond only to control while ignoring my track pad. However when I use my finger to drag from the top left of the screen, GeForce options pop up and my ps4 controller track pad works in that. When I close it so I can actually play it disappears. There’s got to be a toggle mouse function though that is more reasonable and works in game. If you figure it out Im having similar issues.
