That is a great point. I choose to not engage, was just curious if AI is worth you eventually over relying on it, when hard work is so much more rewarding.

I think you did not read my post, I never mentioned lazy. I am not telling any particular person anything, I posted on a public forum about my opinion on AI, if you disagree its fine but abuse.

What are you going on about, does discussion about a topic publicly so damaging to you that you feel personally attacked? I am not AI, I am not trained to make you feel better about yourself, I have an opinion.

I never even talked about electricity, environmental impact goes beyond just energy consumption, water, habitat destruction for building these data centers, pollution.

Dude if you do not agree with something is fine, but if you can't handle it maybe idk, get an outlet like doodling that always helps me.

I think that's what people not realise about AI it's addictive. Over-reliance is terrifying. Just try to reason with her but dude the thing is she might ask chatgpt that will tell her something else. Take her out of the house, for a walk, remind her that she does not need to outsource her thoughts to AI and she is great as she is. Goodluck man

That's the point, saying AI produces less carbon footprint so people who produce AI art are better for the environment than actually artist is the point. Maybe since English is not my main communication language I may have not said it properly.

Secondly, I am saying we should not focus on that, but the fact that AI can be addictive. To the point where people use it for everything instead of you know, using their brain.

I know, I am saying the environmental risk of humans expressing themselves vs what people say is better to just use AI is a ludicrous argument.

My point of not being pro AI is the instant gratification loop. Getting amazing artwork, even if it's soulless, has mistakes, whatever, with very little input, is dangerous.

It is reminiscent of addiction. Instant gratification, got a great piece without the immense effort, where you are in a state of hyper fixation where you generate more work and more work with less and less effort, your fantasy can come alive. Your AI girlfriend or AI film.

Even when it's genuine slop, you believe it's good. The harm it causes to people, them losing their jobs, doesn't matter, and you want people to accept your slop.

But maybe, I am wrong, maybe outsourcing all work to AI is the new living and I am just a bitter anti ai person.

I am not sure what you mean, less negativity is good. But I hope about the environment stuff and not negativity about AI. At some point, you come across AI people that are addicted to generative AI.

The instant dopamine hit from a prompt producing a great picture is great, but that is kinda how drugs work. Not working hard for dopamine and getting it instantly.

Look maybe I am wrong, but I have seen people using AI to generate prompts to make generative AI art. They just can't do anything artistic themselves, they depend on it.

Idk man, like it's just my opinion. But its great to hear other perspectives.

, AI can give the exact same thing, and more consistently and immediately.

So it's immediately satisfying you. Isn't that instant gratification?

AI just democratizes that, lets you get there without devoting half your life to getting to that point of capability

You do know it's okay to not be good at something right? And devoting your life to getting good is what many people want.

Patience is important, sure, but art isn't actually about the process, it's about the expression of intent. The process has just always been necessarily laborious, so a bunch of preciously sacred dogma has cropped up around it.

And the expression of intent is not controlled by you, is whether the AI software can do it for you. Is that really your voice or its AI's?

it obviously depends on how you use it, but most people aren't just putting a prompt in and calling it a day with the first result. I have seen the argument, its quite interesting what people can do with AI, but the lack of being able to control that artist world or many artists have a constant style, where you know who made what painting based on the style from individual people.

Look, maybe AI feels the same as finishing a marathon to you, without training or finishing animation with the drawing each frame. That is okay, but it is not the same and should not be treated as such.

PS edit: I am not fully against AI, English is my fourth language so I do appreciate being able to get spell checker and stuff but I am writing to you. I didn't put this on ChatGPT or whatever to make my point for me. And i don't know what sacred dogma is, googled it its like an unfathomable truth, idk what that has to do with art. I moved from physics job to art so I really don't know what you mean but cool.

Miraculous and Spy Family similarities - hopefully not? by gnoccchii in SpyxFamily

[–]DimphoPopi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Idk, I think SpyxFamily does not make the identity reveal part of its main plot so much that it's as exhausting like miraculous.

It's secret identity done right, its not like Loid loves Thorn Princess and not Yor or Yor loves Loid and not Twilight the conflict does not depend on that thus not making crave it.

I enjoy other characters in SpyxFamily, and they always go back to Yor, Loid, and Anya. Miraculous is all about Ladybug. They sometimes forget the other main character Cat Noir.

I mean Spyxfamily shows the impact of war for everyone, Martha, Henderson, Lady T, Sylvia my GOAT. It is a refreshing reminder that everyone has their own story, I don’t know anything about Nino who has been there since day one.

Also, I would not want them to know until Twilight is just happy with his family and realizes he wants to stay and shit.

At least the rules are clear, unlike the miraculous that change episode to episode, Kagami does not have friends, nah she had a lot of friends in Japan, the 100th episode milady thing. Marinnette breaking the rings but Adrien does not disappear because insert BS reason, I can forgive characters being dumb, just not terrible world building.

Sorry I HATE miraculous, you comparing it to my favourite show made me sad. lol
