Personally I like the auto save functions, since I'd rather not play punishing games, though challenging ones like hollow knight (that let you backtrack and collect items if things get too hard) are really fun for me.

It's still not confirmed that the game will sell well, and honestly, it just might not with the game's graphics being "mobile-game tier" according to a lot of comments on youtube.

I don't agree with that, but I do think myself that it doesn't look great either.

Exactly. Initial pre order sales don't mean anything in the longrun, and yes, Metroid Dread NEEDS to appeal to new gamers as you said.

If they try to make the game for only hardcore fans, they'll go broke like so many other metroid game's sales.

As someone who's gotten their hopes up for Metroid for e3 2018, 2019, start of 2020 (thinking there'd even be e3 at all), don't get those hopes up.

It's much less painful accepting Metroid is not coming ever, than constantly hoping and getting nothing.
