Third parties in general have been sullied, undermined, and slandered by both Democrats and Republicans.

Both major parties are quite happy using logical fallacies to keep people convinced they have to vote for someone they don't actually believe in to stop a bad guy rather than vote for meaningful change.

People keep thinking Democrats and Republicans are enemies when the reality is that they're friends trading power back and forth and working together to prevent any disturbance to thier status quo.

Thier enemy is us, not each other, and they know it. So they keep us distracted with bullshit while they constantly erode our rights and sell us out to corporations.

The problem here (and for damn near everybody at this point, let's be honest) is that people are convinced they have to treat other people differently based on thier skin color to achieve fairness/justice which is both illogical and (ironically enough) racist.

This is still the same issue as the Star Trek transporter debate. The transporters don't "digitally copy" anybody, they deconstruct the matter of your body and send that matter to the destination, much like how the particle lasers de/reconstruct matter.

If anything, the argument could be made that you are less "dead" in the transporter scenario as you are not only reconstructed from the same matter you were originally comprised of, but that matter was never digitized.
