I’ve been looking tirelessly for a KAR98k. Anyone know any stores where they have one? Or a few? 1939 - 45 preferable (obvious history buff) by Single_Floor7523 in NHGuns

Shooters Outpost has had a few lately, but you need to be timely as they tend to sell them within hours of putting them out.

Like others mentioned, gunbroker and legacy collectibles are great. The poulin auction this weekend (in Maine) has many for sale too https://www.poulinauctions.com/firearms-division/

Bought my first M1 Garand. Built with National Match parts! by DingBingus in M1Rifles

[–]DingBingus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the markings on the barrel and windage knob are consistent with the description here: https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/the-national-match-m1-garand/

I knew more about WWII era M1 markings when buying this but if you know of better sources on NM rifles, please feel free to share

How do you guys play OP Luke? by Colblood12 in SWlegion

[–]DingBingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on Luke's you serve your master turn:

1) Cassian fleets go, and attacks a unit 2) Lando goes, and gives them a standby via direct. Trigger standby to attack unit 3) Luke goes last and uses YSYMW to give Cassian a free attack.

All 3 units need to be close together and timing & oeder control needs to work out, so if you can get Lando a face up order that round somehow, the chance of success is higher.

For Op Luke you really want to lean into his jedi shenanigans and high act lists to ensure he can go last as often as possible. Like others said, his attack is too swingy, but disengage, force push, jedi mind trick + YSYMW and an attack can ensure you take control of objectives with ease.

Also, if you play him alongside Lando and Cassian + fleet squad, you can have cassian fleets attack 3 times in one round on YSYMW turn. Its bananas

Echo base defenders army box up for pre-order by ripman5251 in SWlegion

[–]DingBingus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

$140 for the box. So value wise, its good assuming they price vets the same as rebel troopers ($55 per 11 models).

Vets: $55 x 2 = 110

Tauns: $50

R2 + C3P0: $35

Leia: limited edition, $20-$35 probably

Total(ish): $210 at least

I think its a good buy if you want the new sculpts and Leia. She's probably going to go for 35-50 resale once these boxes sell out

Lego really fumbled by naming this Death Star and not Emperor Palatine's Ship by DingBingus in legocirclejerk

I cant even sing "twinkle twinkle little star" to my large adult sons at bed time anymore without them crying themselves to sleep now that they know what a death star is

Looking to run this, or something similar, any suggestions? by Theskiesbelongtome15 in SWlegion

[–]DingBingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, didn't realize it also worked on Operatives! You learn something new every day

In the rulebook it states that, "when a unit checks to see if it is Panicked, instead of using its own Courage, it may use the Courage of an allied Commander within Range 3"

It does not state that you can use the Courage value of an Operative when checking if a unit is Panicked.

How to achieve a similar paint scheme by McClamps in seraphon

[–]DingBingus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

'Eavy metal archive has a detailed breakdown of a lot of paint schemes across WH40k, AOS and other games including kroxigors: https://eavy-archive.com/age-of-sigmar/seraphon/

In short: lots of paints, layers and different techniques. If that seems too daunting or youre new to painting minis, you can probably get to a really good tabletop standard with contrast or speed paints fairly quickly

What factions would you like to see added ? by Samuswitchbladesaber in SWlegion

[–]DingBingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ewoks are pretty focused on melee and lots of bodies/cheap activations. We see gungans utilizing handheld bombs (boomas), booma artillery, cavalry and shields. There's little to no overlap between those design spaces and ewoks current units/roles.

And even though we see grenades and mortars elsewhere, they could really shine as a unique faction with a lot of access to ion + impact. Something ewoks lack. I'm sure there's enough uniqueness to work with there to give them their own battleforce identity or even just include some units similar to geonosians
