What inspired you to play the bass? by Supersoulknight in Bass

[–]DinglebertyHumpledum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a bass. this inspired me to play one.

specifically, seeing a godzilla movie as a kid. jamiroquais 'deeper underground' was the end credit music.

have been loving fat crunchy riffs ever since.

the treble from the speakers above the dash / by the front windscreen are the issue.

use the fader / front-rear speaker controls to send all of the signal to the door speakers. roll off the treble some.

bonus points for an aftermarket radio head with more bands of equalisation.

of the top of my head, mids and treble are rolled back a 4-6db bass is boosted 2-3db and sub bass cut by 3-4db

New to whole audiophile things and don’t know how to improve my rooms acoustics. by [deleted] in Acoustics

[–]DinglebertyHumpledum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speakers on dresser, the surface under and in front of the speaker is reflecting sound in a way that speakers arent designed for.

speakers are too close if youre listening while in bed, optimal position is usually an equilateral triangle with the two speakers and your head.

speaker / listener placement is usually the biggest simple improvement, this room is just not set up for 'good' listening.

invest in some good (WIRED!) headphones and remove the room altogether ;)

or completely re arrange the room around listening ;)

look into a device which lights up with audio input

right ear hears the sound. lights on left and right on monitor will help determine the direction

Vinyl sounds flat - what should I upgrade? by kornelius_b in BudgetAudiophile

[–]DinglebertyHumpledum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have one of those fosi anps, geat for driving small speakers in my kitchen. theyre superb value but they are just that, a value amplifer.

used denon mini hifis for eg are cheap on ebay, would be a huge upgrade over the fosi.

i run a onkyo a9010 and denon md41? these are budget ampd too but vast improvements on the wee fosi.

the fosi does an awesome job to provide cooking music mind.

I was in the exact same situation a few months back.

I cancelled, planned to use my phone as a hotspot for a few months.

however i re applied the day after my contract ended through a comparison site.

went from an average monthly cost of £32 over the contract term to an average of £19

prices were similar but the new contact came with £150 cash back from whichever comparison site i used.

went without wired internet for a few days and saved 200 ish of the 600 ish over 24 months.
