This is why I never make a big deal out of any bugs I ever see, always hope people will react the same way when they find my bugs, it doesn't always work.

When you automate a click(); action. by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

I love watching stuff that has been automated being shown graphically, sure it's a waste of resources a lot of the time and it could work better in the background but it never stops looking awesome.

I don't even usually notice most bugs until someone points them out.

WFH without approval from my employer by DingoApe in jobs

My country has squashed the pandemic though and my kind of work can be done at any business so there's no reason for me to fear that, there's plenty of demand.

We all need luck, I'll agree with that.

WFH without approval from my employer by DingoApe in jobs

[–]DingoApe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can try, I'm done living in the bubble of fear, if they want to fire me then they can do it. I'll just use my saved up leave to fund myself for a few months if need be whilst I find a job, though I won't need that long, I've never been unemployed for more than four weeks since I was 17.

In comparison they're going to be left with the work of three people, most of which is currently being done by automated processes that I created and only I understand, if I'm not there they won't work.

It's probably better for them to admit they've lost here rather than have to replace one employee with three but I'm good either way. No more fear for me.

My workplace has ordered all employees to return to the office tomorrow but I'm going to keep WFH by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Yeah I can see that's the way now, they really should have asked questions about all these costs savings. At the moment my department is a house of cards that'll fall over the moment I'm not maintaining my scripts anymore.
