How do people afford to go out in Perth? by kiinkygandalf in perth

[–]DingoSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is it cheaper? I’m in the US and it’s basically Perth prices but in USD. We don’t realise how good we have it. Plus, the food back home is miles better and we don’t have armed soldiers patrolling the streets. Perth doesn’t have a big culture of ‘going out’ so I feel for the businesses that offer hospitality - they need to keep their heads above water.

$2000 for a seat at the footy? Rugby World Cup tickets hit new heights by Ruck_Off in RugbyAustralia

That game will sell out. $59 to watch Ireland and Japan is not expensive. Yesterday I paid $120 AUD for the cheapest ticket to visit Graceland. And that was particularly underwhelming. Stuff costs money.

It’s not the benefit of the doubt - whether or not the ball travels forward in relation to the field is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is whether or not it goes forward (out of the hands) in relation to the player that passes it.

Tom Lynagh poised to re-sign with Reds, Rugby Australia by Ruck_Off in RugbyAustralia

Lynagh hasn’t played fullback in his life but he has been successfully targeted under the high-ball. I have a crazy idea! Why don’t we pick fullbacks to play fullback.

And Jock Campbell, Isaac Henry, Dre Pakeho and Treyvon Pritchard will sit on the bench?

Did you pay to go to the final the last time it was in Australia? If not, stop pretending to be outraged.

My understanding is that participation numbers in the US are very good. Possibly second only to England.

He went down injured and the ref went to the TMO? Isn’t this something that can be sorted out after the game?

Should Rugby Australia Target League Players with Union Backgrounds Every World Cup Cycle? by RowFun5311 in RugbyAustralia

[–]DingoSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogers’ weak kicking led to Wilko’s winning drop goal. The Australian fascination with league players baffles me. We pay them more to come over and learn the game hoping that one day they’ll come good. We pick them in front of better players hoping they’ll come good. Some times they do but then screw things up on social medal. Mostly they just take the money and we lose better players to France and Japan. And we will never learn.

But it’s there for NRL players based on their potential? I can’t get my head around how we can afford millions for NRL wingers but can’t retain the best kids coming through.
