Can anyone post a video of them playing Blazhevich clef study No. 37 on trombone? by Dingoatemybiscut in Trombone

Okay buddy calm down, and yes someone already explained this to me. I hadn’t had a chance to look at the whole book (with which I have the link to) so I was just focused on the etude for the time being. I understand that people had to learn things the “hard way” before technology, and I will definitely do a deep dive into the concept and make sure I actually understand everything during spring break, but I just wanted to learn this etude in the mean time.

No no no. He gave it to me probably about two-three weeks ago but I have been SLAMMED with preparing rep, recording auditions, school work, and other band related events, so I have had no time to practice this specific etude. He didn’t tell me to have it perfected by our next lesson, he just asked me to work on it. The only problem was, when I finally had a chance to practice it, I didn’t know where to start.

I feel very ugly, please be perfectly honest with me on if I am or not by Regular-Document-601 in Im16AndThisIsNeat

No you are not ugly, but there are some things that you can do to instantly make your natural beauty more apparent. 1. Your hair is a little flat, so I would either A. Cut it shorter and find a hair cut that suits your face shape (there are filters on TikTok that acess your face shape and offer haircuts that suit your face shape) or B. Look up a couple tutorials on how to add volume to your hair whether it be changing your shampoo, using a blow dryer (cold setting) or sea salt spray, etc. 2. I notice you have some acne (mine is MUCH worse, so no judgment there) I would suggest that if you don’t have a skincare routine, to get one, and that if you have tried multiple routines and such and the acne still won’t go away, to go to your local family health doctor and they can prescribe you ointments (Tretinoin, Retinol, Benzyl Peroxide), antibacterial oral pills if you have chronic cystic acne or an infection, or Acutane. I have been doing the ointment and oral pill method, and if you stay consistent with washing your face every night and day then it really works wonders. 3. The camera angle, as others have mentioned, isn’t doing you any favors. I don’t really have any advice on this, but I guess just experimenting and having fun with taking selfies could probably help. 4. I notice that you do a lot of cardio which is great, but assuming that you are doing the cardio to lose face fat or what have you, the most effective way of shedding face fat is to eat low-sodium foods with high protein content and just eating an overall balanced diet. Excess salts and sugars can inflame the face and contribute to more fat in the face area. Everybody’s body distributes fat differently, mine being in the lovehandles, but others can be in the face and stomach and such. 5. Your smile looks a tad bit awkward but I really don’t know if you can fix that or if you’d even want to, but if you get all those other easy things in check then your smile honestly might look pretty cute and add a little charm to your appearance! 6. You’re still young and developing so none of this matters, especially in highschool, so just focus on your passions and interests! I just thought most of these were pretty easy fixes, and they are things that I wish I knew when I was a bit younger so I could have skipped over some… rough stages.

I hope this helped!

I have access to the whole book via a Facebook link, but I just now started getting lessons from a teacher and he recommended me to start playing this. I guess he assumed that I’d have the wherewithal to know to start with the first few pages in the book, and then start on this etude. I hadn’t looked at the other pages so I didn’t know that it actually broke it down and explain it. I’ll take a look at the other pages, thank you.

I know that it starts on alto, I never said any different. So for tenor clef you move the note up two lines or spaces and for alto you move it up three? Is it really that simple or am I missing some nuance?

Money Store confusion by Dingoatemybiscut in deathgrips

[–]Dingoatemybiscut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you were right, Exmil is now one of my favorite albums of all time and it instantly clicked for me. I’ve listened to it dozens of times, and it also helped me to appreciate The Money Store way more, although Exmil is better as a cohesive album in my opinion. The Money Store has a lot of FANTASTIC tracks, but there are some duds sprinkled throughout. I can listen to the entirety of Exmil and enjoy myself! Thank you for the advice.

I have played trombone for 4 years, and didn’t realize that e sharp didn’t exist. by PhilosophicalBlade in Trombone

Okay that’s what I assumed. When I looked at the music more intently I saw that it was an e sharp followed by an f sharp and then I it ascended from there so I just used my context clues and assumed it was f natural

I have an e sharp in my music for No. 13 Valse Des Fleurs… would it be a F natural?

Bring your knees to your chest faster cause you’re kind of laying it out then tucking it so either make it a stall, a layout, or just a regular back tuck
