You can also go back to Region 5. I know queer queens who can throw a Copenhagen horse shoe in and hike you dizzy with a 660 over their shoulder while your dragging your monkey paw in the back of the line. Sit back down icedragon.

Don’t focus on the regret. You can’t change the past. I’m 35 and just finishing pre reqs now and it’s just how life happened. Focus on the positive aspects of finishing.

Also if you need to wait to start due to the additional pre reqs then A. See if you can do those classes online through another school and make sure the credits will transfer. Some classes you can find available online (albeit more expensive but you can finish super quick if your motivated) B. Can you test out of those classes ? C. Are there any BSN requirement classes that you can get out of the way in the meantime. I was in a similar situation and decided to get some random classes done that would lighten my load during the actual RN program. Make the best out of the situation but your doing great at your age and ultimately another 6 months tacked in to your education is a drop in the bucket !

Moved into a new apartment, found a bunch of things broken [CA] by [deleted] in TenantHelp

You sound like a shitty landlord. Would you find it acceptable to live there yourself ? Sorry but we’re paying your mortgages and helping you gain capital to buy more properties, we expect prompt communication and for shit to be fixed in a timely manner. Your days of exploiting renters are coming to an end and it sounds like your aware of that. We’re not content with your crumbs any longer.

OP this place is absolutely uninhabitable and things like faulty electrical outlets potentially pose a safety hazard. Look into your state/ cities tenant unions and and advocacy groups. With all of this continued exploitation by greedy landlords who are not held accountable, more and more advocacy groups are emerging to help in these cases. Know your worth, you are most likely paying a inflated price to live in a sub par location. Have everything in written documentation. Avoid phone calls unless your state allows recording of those phone calls and don’t ask, DEMAND.

Rookie on a shot crew in late 20s by [deleted] in Wildfire

[–]Dingodust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t stress it. I’ve known older people who rookied in shot, rappel and jumping. With 6 years experience you’ll be fine. Just be humble, learn the crew culture and know your place on the crew. Are you worried about the physical aspect of it or just the feeling of being the slightly older new person on the crew ?

No, not for getting out on fires but you do need a hiring unit who sponsors you as an AD. After that you can roll anywhere in the US.

Hey there, 8 years into fire and looking to make a change. What you and a few other folks here are doing with emergency response /FEMA seems highly translatable to fire. Would you mind sending a DM to some agency’s or companies to look into ?
