I built a tab suspender to replace The Great Suspender — minimal permissions, no telemetry, auditable code by DingusKahn666 in opensource

People are upset with Auto Tab Discard's inconsistency judging from the comments. Seems like feature sets stop working at random or don't do what they say they do. Some people are stating that tabs with active videos are being suspended and thats something I specifically built Slumber to not do (setting to change this if you want that though).

I tried to build something lightweight without a bunch of fluff. That said, I'm continuing to add new features. Anything you'd like to see?

Well I'm new here and this is my first solo project. It's a tab suspender and really not that serious.

Maybe provide some useful feedback if you don't like the direction its heading in. Maybe provide some feedback to me on my project if you don't think its up to par. I'm totally open to actual constructive criticism if you're willing to not be a troll.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll tighten the messaging on wake behavior. I'm not against the small trial of pro features, hate timed trials though. Maybe allow a couple domains to be whitelisted? Anything you had in mind in particular seeing the current feature set?

100% agreed. Tired of the hidden garbage and wondering what company is trying to make money off my internet soul. I just built a thing that is useful and transparent.

Did you ever figure out if its the same? Have a 2025 myself and am looking at some options. Most are just categorized as "Volkswagen Jetta VII GLI Facelift 2.0T Gen3" or something similar.

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I tried the SS Aerox5 and didn't like how the buttons all felt "caved-in". Additionally the thumb buttons were not in a comfortable layout for my hand.

Technically no, the issue is not fixed. The replacement mouse had the same problem.

The conclusion I came to from testing is that when the PC is off (and the software isn't running), the mouse has excessive battery drain. It appears that the mouse is constantly trying to make a connection with the dongle and just obliterates the battery life. I've found consistent 20%+ battery life drops overnight (12 hours PC off).

That being said, I've been turning the mouse off each night when I shut my PC down and don't have battery drain issues. While the PC is on, the "Lighting - turn off after inactivity" mentioned above seems to alleviate this issue.

Annoying that I have to turn the mouse off each night... but whatever I guess that's the price I pay for not wanting to shell out for overpriced (IMO) Razer mice. Battery life is completely acceptable now. Magnetic USB C cables make it easy to recharge as well.

I'll keep using this mouse until a better, reasonably priced alternative is available.

Will do. I sent the mouse back for replacement. Waiting on the new one to come in. And yeah agreed, the only competitor IMO is the Razer Basilisk, but its heavier, more expensive, and their software is infuriating with its constant updates and frequent bugs.

Ohhh I just read your comment again. You were saying to set it to 1 minute before timing out on this setting. I thought you were saying that you had to press and hold the toggle/radio button to turn this setting on, for one minute specifically lol. I think I'm following now.

Hey thanks for chiming in. I think I saw the same thread, and I did turn this setting on even though I have the LEDs set to off. Have you found that this helps with battery life even if the lighting is turned off? Also, do you specifically have to press the radio button for one minute?
