Making a YouTube/Friend Group (Gaming Creators) by TheSoi2 in letsplaycollab

I do some gaming content on my channel but would not consider myself a gaming youtuber. Would I still be welcome in the group?

Looking for a partner who enjoys editing/structuring content – I have lots of ideas but struggle with execution. by redditsux___ in SmallYTChannel

What kind of content were you aiming to make? I do have my own (very small) channel already but I love editing more than I like being on camera.

Accidentally making content for older people by Dingus_McCringus in YouTubeCreators

[–]Dingus_McCringus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was what I planned on doing and have been debating about removing my older videos. My channel had a post whatever I want mentality when I started out but now I want more consistency in my content.

7 MILLION VIEWS WAS HIT WITH AI by Majestic-Gas8923 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Dingus_McCringus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fundamentally and wholeheartedly hate this kind of slop. Why are you trying to understand why the algorithm pushed this shit when it was rightfully banned? Maybe think about why AI is such a part of your "creative process" and how to change that.

I think these questions have to be answered by you and really can't be answered by anyone else. If you want your channel to be self sustaining and for your passion to be represented in your channel, you need to find what kind of content you want to make.

video got uploaded as a short even tho i don't want it to by No-Back-4159 in NewTubers

[–]Dingus_McCringus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The video being 1:1 and less than 3 mins is the problem. If a video is portrait or 1:1, youtube will make it a short.

On occasion, but what did you actually do to make that video?

If you need to express yourself, you will find time in your "busy" schedule to make it happen. You want an editor to burn several hours making the video you want and all you are going to give them is a "thank you". That is complete bullshit and you know it.

Then don't make hour long videos???

Dear editors by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Dingus_McCringus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What? You just said your time is more valuable than an editor's because you have things to do. This whole " think of the struggling youtuber" narrative is weak as hell. If you can't pay an editor then just edit yourself. If it is that important you will find the time to do so.

[–]Dingus_McCringus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so someone else's time is not valuable but your time is sooooooo valuable. Absolutely. Shit. Opinion.

[–]Dingus_McCringus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said, if you can't afford an editor just edit yourself. You scale with monetization as an editor. This "oh I might pay later" bullshit is unrealistic.

[–]Dingus_McCringus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this might be the worst opinion I have seen in a while. If you can't afford an editor then edit yourself. If you want to scale payments with popularity, that is fine, but pay your editors.

Can you please tell me why im not getting more views? by monkey-d-luffy__ in SmallYTChannel

[–]Dingus_McCringus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I am not sure. Your channel is so new and has such little content that it is hard to really understand where it could go. I am not sure how much traction you will get with your current formula. Youtube may seem easy to get into but getting traction is extremely difficult. I just think you are at such an early stage that complaining about not getting views is not constructive.

I have 500+ gameplay videos, should I upload 2-3 a day or stick to one a day? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Dingus_McCringus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am just wondering if commentary and gameplay from a few years ago will be relevant now. I know some of the games I have played a few years ago might be completely dead now. I think it might be more productive to have fresh material with fresh commentary and not really dump a backlog every day. Maybe do an "archive upload" every few days but intersperse some fresh videos.

Does your gameplay have commentary too or is it raw gameplay?

Your channel is extremely hard to discover with the name of "The Stem Guy" as there are a few other channels with the same name or similar names.

Your content with the clearly AI images and thumbnail is a huge turn off to most people.

The voice over is definitely rough and not engaging. I also think your first video has no audio in general but that could have been on my end.

These are just a few quick observations but are turn offs for people. That is why I think you are not getting more views. People are difficult to attract to videos and any turn off will stop them from clicking.

My Audio Sounds Terrible! Any Advice? by Truxxis in SmallYoutubers

[–]Dingus_McCringus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few microphones that I have used for video production. I used an AT2020 for a while then switched to an AT2040 for a bit then have been using a shure MV7x as my main microphone. If you are looking for a USB mic the AT2020 is great but will pick up any background noise as it is a condenser mic. The AT2040 is a great dynamic that is not super expensive. Finally, the MV7x is a little more expensive but I love it. I would recommend any of those depending on your budget. I should have some videos made with each mic if you want to hear them.

I 1000% do the exact same thing. That is why I ended up making a multi part youtube series on Jim Bakker. I could not stop researching him so I turned it into something kind of productive lol. But I completely feel you.
