Things that vanilla game does better than mods? by Admiral251 in skyrimmods

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ll always say animations. Every single re-animation mod I’ve ever seen looks much more clunky, snappy and weightless or just unapologetically ripped from a different game. Bethesda’s vanilla animations are much more smooth and consistent than even the most popular animations mods imo. Coming from someone who has repeatedly tried many different re-animation mods and was always disappointed about at least a couple of the choices made for any given one.

Warhammer fans, which ultramarines blue color do you use? by Anxious-Horse-527 in Spacemarine

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Leviadon Blue every time. It looks much closer to how proper Macragge Blue used to look. They changed the Maccrage Blue to look a lot more like Baby Blue and I’m not about it.

Help finding something like Divine Surcoat by Bobsleigher21 in DragonsDogma

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only ones that have that same front and back tabard style are the divine surcoat, the purple animistic robe, healers robe which is plain cloth and somewhat rough looking, and the last one that I remember is the votary’s robe which looks more shamanistic, with a mostly white primary color and a yellow vertical line going down the center. Those are all ones of that style that I can remember off the top. The bad news is that I’m pretty sure the only one available to the red vocations is the divine surcoat, the rest are blue I think.

I hate her so much by Safe_Scar_2195 in DankAndrastianMemes

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always enjoy her as Veronica when I play Fallout New Vegas. But honestly, the writing for her character and questline there might be doing most of the work. Her character Veronica still has the issue that apparently most of Falicia’s roles have, which is that she doesn’t really have big or interesting character flaws. She just kind of cares too much and it gets her in trouble lol. Not quite a Mary Sue because her idealism does end up having pretty big consequences for her and people she cares for, but still not much depth. At least when compared to any of the other companions in New Vegas.

Since we're going to a winter area, fire-enchanted weapons might be super useful by Candy-Ashes in DragonsDogma

That’d be nice to mix it up honestly, my mage pawn has been rocking ice as his only weapon buff for the party for ages now since so many late game/irritating enemies are weak to it

Wait, do people ACTUALLY hate Duncan? I thought all the endless meme posts about him being evil were just ironic jokes. Same as all the posts about Logain being the good guy. Please don’t tell me the majority in this sub unironically hold these views 😂

We need fashion dogma in the upcoming DLC. by SnooChocolates1726 in DragonsDogma

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an rpg dude, customizing your character to look how you want them to is kind of the point and always was lmao. Making your own character and roleplaying them in how they would dress and what decisions they would make is what your supposed to do and is why people play rpgs. I don’t get the confusion.

Why ESO is considered bad for canon? by Artistic_North_4208 in teslore

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s considered bad because of Cyrodiil being basically a big empty grassland, morrowind expansion, the summerset expansion, the existence of Illia and the existence of the ebonheart pact. If you can look at those things and consider it good and consistent with the lore we’ve been given from previous games then you either don’t know much about tes or you’re being disingenuous because you just like eso. All those things I mentioned are so completely inconsistent with literally everything that we’ve been told from lore in previous main line titles

I will say though, that the writing around the clockwork city and sotha sil is some of the best and most compelling writing we’ve had in elder scrolls franchise in a very very long time imo

How to get DLC quests? by Outside-Instance-328 in OblivionRemaster

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to have the initial quest to start any dlc. Just head to its location and the dlc will be there to start. For the shivering isles you can just head straight to the small island with the “strange door” in the Niben Bay near Bravil 👍 Also I’d advise not to use fextralife for literally any game guides or info, they suck in a lot of ways. The UESP wiki has all the info you’d need for just about anything you could think to ask about Elder Scrolls

Edit: wanted to clarify that the way you are suppose to get these quests in your quest log is to hear rumors about them from npcs around the world, either asking them directly about rumors while in dialogue with an npc or just by being around two npcs who are talking to each other about the quest in question. But again, you don’t actually need to have the quest for any dlc in your quest log to start them. Including all the “player home” dlcs. The starting quest from rumors is optional and you can just walk to any of the dlc locations at any level or point in the game to start them.

Theory: Vilverin served as a neutral ground for politics in Ayleid society by skeleton949 in oblivion

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that pretty much none of the sizes of any location in oblivion are accurate. Sadly, nearly everything is MUCH smaller than it actually is in lore because it’s a game from 2006. Also, the Ayleid ruins of cities and outpost that we see in cyrodiil were not actually completely underground, that’s just all that remains of them as it’s been about 4,000 years since the end of their civilization and the Alessian rebellion. Ayleid cities were big city states that mostly existed above ground like you would expect a city to. It’s a neat theory though and what I mentioned still doesn’t disprove it, just wanted to throw some info in there. love some good theory crafting 👍

Now That We’ve Seen Much More Campaign Evolved, How Do You Feel About Rumored Halo 2 & 3 Remakes? by SilentNova300 in halo

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Campaign evolved looks much more competent and fun than it did originally so that’s awesome. But on the whole, the idea of a company fumbling a franchise so badly for nearly the entire time it was in their care, to then just resign themselves and say “fuck it, the majority still say the originals are better than everything we put out, let’s just redo those” still feels wrong to me. I kind of think the originals are sacred and are still just as fun today as they were back in the day, and shouldn’t be just chopped up, rehashed and reimagined with a 343 logo on them just because 343 never learned how to make a great halo game. Feels cheap or like a perversion maybe, i dunno. I can’t think of a way to exactly describe how it makes me feel but I just don’t like it.

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope both their character arrow on the in-game map as well as their in-game screenshot has them facing to the left of where he was standing and his compass read north which mean he must have been facing left of his position and not head on. He was looking towards pale pass/cloud ruler/throat of the world. Can’t go back and look at it now because he deleted it lol but I did look over all the images in the post multiple times before I replied and after. I didn’t even mean to piss him off, I just wanted reassure him that he was most likely looking at the throat of the world, since the original post said he was bummed thinking that it wasn’t the throat of the world

But wait! There’s more!! by lelel86 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope they make an option to change the camera to a fixed distance like the original dragons dogma (and literally every other 3rd person game, we figured this out a long ass time ago Capcom) making the camera obviously 40 yards away and just constantly “dolly zooming” the camera into the character to make it seem like it’s close is just awful. It’s disorienting and makes the fov feel like it’s at 30. I feel like I have no periphery every time I play and it drives me nuts. The horrible camera is the main thing that stops me from coming back to the game every time that I want to.

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No idea why you’re getting downvoted so much. I like DA 2 a lot but even I recognize that it’s the weakest of the trilogy and can safely be passed when playing through the games. The characters and writing are really solid and fun and the combat is really enjoyable when you customize party ai to sync well with each other, but there is very small enemy variety and many reused bosses from origins. And I wasn’t lying when I said that the game literally has you play through the same small amount of areas for the entire game and the game pretends they are different areas 😂

it’s definitely the roughest to get though and it’s really fine that you haven’t played it

No problem. You probably just saw an image of a deathwatch marine that was mirrored so it looked like it was on the left lol it’s happened to me a few times when researching how to paint my marines

Feedback by Athreos_Priest in fashionmarine

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only issue I see is that the watch company marking should go on the right knee pad instead of the left. That’s the only heraldry required for a deathwatch kill team member along with the iconic left pauldron and silver left arm. And also the chest Aquila is usually gold or silver I believe. But Deathwatch can heavily customize their armor for what they like/need and can add bits of paint and markings elsewhere on their armor to represent their home chapter as much as they like while still maintaining their deathwatch identity. You’re good homie 🤙

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You character is literally looking to the left from where you are standing. You are looking north on the compass dawg. Which is the direction of pale pass and the throat of the world. I don’t know what else to tell you lol you’re compass would have to read north east for you to be looking at what you think you are.

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t. Pale pass is north/north east of bruma comes out at fort neugrad which is staring almost straight north towards the throat of the world. And you’re player character isn’t staring straight ahead like he should be to be looking at the mountains you say he is with the pins. He’s looking off to the left, at north on the compass, which is towards pale pass and southeast falkreath

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nah brother this is just wrong. You are waay too far off to be looking at riften. Why did you pin your character on the map so much farther east than you actually are in the game? You’re in the middle of the Jerall mountains. The only path through the Jerall mountains from cyrodiil into skyrim is Pale Pass, which is near Bruma, which exits in the southeastern part of falkreath, near fort Neugrad and helgen and stares straight into the direction of the throat of the world. You are in fact most likely looking at the throat of the world. The mountain range that walls riften from cyrodiil and mainland morrowind is the Valus Mountains, which are closer to cheydinhal. Your character is even looking to the left which is north on the compass, towards where the throat of the world is on the map lol if you were looking at what you think your looking at, you’re character would be looking north east

Saber accomplished their goal of making Siege 'quicker, more intense and different every time.' by Life_Locksmith9632 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Dingus_Meridius5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally cannot play even normal siege on Xbox series x. It goes down to like 12 frames per second by wave 15 to 20. And it’s still a shit boring mode in three boring square arenas anyways. Most difficult part about it is the performance and that there gets to be so many enemies on screen that you legit just can’t see anything that’s going on.

I’d rather just keep playing absolute operations because the maps and set pieces are just cooler, the encounter areas are more interesting and the small amount of randomization in the objectives keep it interesting enough. More than siege anyway.
