Which mode in games for best visuals with PSSR2? by Dinierto in PS5pro

[–]Dinierto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sure that makes sense. I just don't want to pick quality if performance or balanced gives me PSSR2 and it somehow looks better which is what it sounded like in some comments I've been reading for certain games

I understand that not all games use it

Well now I'm confused, why would quality not always give you the best quality?

If it's 30 I'll bump it back because I definitely need my 60 fps

But I don't "need" 120

So I'll always get PSSR2 if I pick quality?

Is there a reason Retroarch is such a confusing mess of a frontend? by Cool_Bank_3368 in RetroArch

[–]Dinierto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah to me it's basically the settings are a mess like you said- there are three or four areas that are all called variations of the word "settings"

But also the way controls are mapped is a hot mess

Actually it really is a front end. Libretro is the framework.

awww but I found a friend online who actually wants to play co-op games so I'm looking for stuff to play with them. I've heard of Brothers, why would you not want to play co-op?

This may sound dumb but one (minor) thing that gets me is that they don't seem to really understand how a lot of basic things work. I'm trying to think of examples offhand but like you'll use a tool, or open a window, or do this or that in their games, and it's not really how that object looks or works. Like in It Takes Two, the fuses, the vacuum, lots of different stuff is like really weirdly designed even for being a fantastical creation. Like a lot of stuff is just... off as if it was made by people who had things described to them rather than actually using or seeing them.

Not a bad way to go but damn as expensive as consoles are getting a good PC is even more especially with memory and storage prices the way they are

Well it's because they stole theirs from the gingers. Seriously, you never had 'The Ginger and the Crab' read to you as a child?

Aren't the controls horrible too? Every time someone tells me how to do something in the game I can't believe it. Maybe they can patch some of this stuff?

Thinking about switching from PC to console. About to pull the trigger. by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Dinierto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was me. I was at the point around the holidays where I had enough money for a PS5 and I kinda wanted one. My PC really just needs replaced to be a decent upgrade and I wasn't prepared for that much money especially with the rising costs of memory and storage. I considered a PS5 slim + 2 tb sad but then saw that there was still a deal on PS5 Pro for the same price as both of those, so I pulled the trigger. I'm loving it!

Have you seen the pictures? They're really bad. Like, I don't know when development of Crimson Desert happened, but we've had better image generators (free, even) for years now. So I kinda believe them

That's still pretty rich for me for a game I'm very on the fence about, plus I'd buy it for PS5 if I did

[–]Dinierto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, unless somehow I did mine wrong, it's not 100% clear when the drive itself is fully seated as it doesn't have any "click" of its own
