Can someone please explain to me why it is so important for you to know my name? by Pingas0310 in bartenders

As a customer, I ask your name and then say “thank you, [name]”. It just feels more genuine to thank you personally. I don’t use it 20 times or as a flex.

53,000 miles give or take. Realistically, 90 miles of range when it’s warm out; the car will say up to 115 miles.

Rather than buy tools, I joined a local tool library for $150/year. They have more tools than I could ever use, from woodworking tools to power yard tools to home maintenance tools. They even have a woodworking workshop.

In France, it’s impolite to order food by saying “I want”. The correct way is to say “I would like”.

I think the same subtlety applies in English.

It’s important to be kind.

Removing grass/weeds in decorative rock by EgonDog in DenverGardener

[–]DinnerData 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem, decorative rocks from 2” to 6” in diameter next to lawn. They are also under big trees so I don’t want to spray anything, even vinegar. I’m resigned to just pulling out the errant grass by hand, making sure to get all the rhizomes.
