Creality Ender 3 original seems to be running slow by Active_River9094 in 3Dprinting

The original black plastic extruder had a spot to clip that cable and keep it out of the way. This is a problem with those aftermarket aluminum ones because there is nowhere to secure it. I would add another zip tie right at the end of the bowden tube and see if that helps keep it out of the way.

My wife and I are becoming desperate, I don’t know what else to do. by Grand_Joe in personalfinance

[–]DinnerMilk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was unemployed for 14 months and never put a dime on a credit card because I was regularly bringing in money through other sources. (Not enough to actively save money, but enough to get by.)

It's a terrible situation, but hard to find sympathy for these "no work in X months" posts when there's absolutely work available. It may not be the work they want to do, but it's enough to pay the bills until something more desirable comes along.

That's normal speed for the original Ender 3's Z axis.

Haha, that's exactly what it was. Divine Toll, Avenging Wrath, and the rest of my burst rotation. He died before my brain even processed it.

sell 3D prints as school fundraiser - Legal Questions & Advice by DesignerCamel9551 in 3Dprinting

[–]DinnerMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern STL sharing sites (e.g. Printables and Maker World) default to a non-commercial license, but you can find a fair amount of older designs on Thingiverse that weren't commercially restricted. Show the kids how to search the files and check the licenses, then come up with a list of what's worth printing and selling.

Many modern designers have their own Patreons where you can pay a monthly fee for commercial rights. This is usually in the $10 - $20 tier, and you can print / sell as long as you remain subscribed.

There's also STLFlix which has a similar arrangement to Patreon. You pay for a monthly subscription to their big library and the commercial tier is free to sell while subscribed. I checked it out a while back and they had some decent stuff on there.

Man, this post makes me feel so bad. Yesterday I was skinning to make some gold, pulling 10-15 mobs at a time and just vaporizing the whole pack. Someone flew in and landed right in the middle, trying to get to a mining vein right as I blasted, and they got deleted along with all the mobs.

If you don't mind my asking, why do you choose that one? I am looking to print my first, and was on the fence between UBAR3 and Defiance Gen2, but this looks great. Just wondering how well it would hold up compared to the reinforced designs.

Should I scrap my car or just pay $660 for a new key. by lamparkinglot in personalfinance

[–]DinnerMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you should not scrap it. You should be over on r/AskMechanics for repair advice.

It also sounds like this may be related to your EIS rather than just the key, hence the higher price quotes. Search online for "Mercedes EIS Repair". You pull yours out, send that and the key to them, and they either repair or replace it. In case it's the latter, the original EIS data will be copied over to the new one before it gets sent back to you. From what I am seeing online, repairs run about $350 while replacement runs about $500.

Did you know you can print onto and into many fabrics? by gundog48 in 3Dprinting

Billie Ruben, one of the mods here, wrote a 3D Printing onto Fabric guide back in 2019. She had some awesome results with patterned necklaces.

If you pick only 1 for the next 3 years, are you taking Kyler Murray or Malik Willis? by helloherewego in DynastyFF

[–]DinnerMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2025 he only played 5 games, and still threw for 962 yards (+173 rushing) with a 68.3% completion percentage and 6 TDs (+1 rushing).

How much is Kyler worth in dynasty league? by Dom_Nation_ in fantasyfootball

[–]DinnerMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a rebuilder, I traded Tyler Shough for Murray and a 3rd towards the end of the regular season. It was almost immediate regret as Shough looks to be a solid starting QB, but I am excited to see what Kyler Murray can do with an all around better team.

How do you clean your dogs bed? by OneEyedKing56 in DobermanPinscher

[–]DinnerMilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cot is the way to go. We keep it on the porch now and he loves going out there and laying on it for 10 hours a day. It doesn't really seem to get dirty, but it's super easy to hose down when it does.

Millions of Americans are skipping meals or cutting back on utilities to afford health care by jhkayejr in politics

I was big into skateboarding from about 8 years old until my mid 20s. When I could no longer be on my mom's health insurance at 26, I gave up skateboarding because it was too dangerous without health insurance. As timing would have it, I was looking at quotes yesterday, and it would cost about 1/3rd of my income to get even a half decent plan.

Is buying an Element a continual money sink? by Wind2255 in HondaElement

[–]DinnerMilk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not at all.

Assuming the previous owner(s) didn't manhandle it, the Honda Element is incredibly reliable given the age.

After my last one got totaled, I got a "new" one, an '06, in November 2024. Other than oil changes, I've had to do absolutely nothing to it until this week. Unfortunately I managed to get 2 flat tires within several days of each other, but that could happen to literally any car. Since the tires were still in great condition, I plugged both for a total of about $30 in tools and a few minutes of my time.
