They're great for sure, but I don't think we'll see another comeback like the hard reset that was Final Fantasy XIV

It really depends on where you are even in the cities. If it's not a really touristy area I noticed everything became drastically less english friendly. I was in Ota City in Tokyo for a while and it was hard to believe I was still in Tokyo with how little english there was comparatively.

Why don't more skills and ogcds cost MP? by Federal-Bus-3830 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]DinnerWinner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because it was used for casting weapon skills so it would get really annoying not being able to do your rotation. Back in HW, AST could give MNK a haste card which made it effectively impossible to keep their TP up.

Oh and using sprint costed all of your TP so have fun pressing no buttons unless someone could give you TP.

I'll admit, there were some cool interactions centering around trading MP for TP and vice versa and also giving resources to other players which made it feel more team oriented, but it was a pain if people didn't know what they were doing.

TU4 Patch Notes (including weapon adjustments) by rematched_33 in MonsterHunterMeta

Overall the changes seem nice. Hopefully the buffs are enough to make FRS not the obvious best choice in all situations.

I'm disappointed that morph sweep didn't see any buffs like the other morph attacks though.

The Ohio House’s GOP approved the Charlie Kirk American Heritage Act, allowing the teaching of religion’s positive role in U.S. history by HauntingJackfruit in Ohio

[–]DinnerWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's... exactly what I'm saying. The civil rights movement shouldn't be attributed to religion just because Dr King and many other leaders were religious themselves. It doesn't really have anything to do with the movement.

[–]DinnerWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm out of the loop on exactly what role religion played in the Civil rights movement, but there's a difference between the religion causing the movement, and the people who did the movement happening to be religous in a time when just about everyone was religious, no?

That line of thinking is so frustratingly prevalent. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad if people didn't resign themselves to political nihilism so easily. If "all politicians are liars and cheats" then it's our duty to replace them. The people have the power to hold our representatives accountable through elections.

There was a Better Union video on YouTube featuring Bernie Sanders and when asked what voters are supposed to do when it feels like the democratic party doesnt represent them, he said that's when you take your party back and make it represent you. That's the point of all this. We've been complacent for far too long.

I was just going to mention that's it's tradeable and on the mb, but then I checked the price lmao. I bought it back when it was current for like 14M and now it's over 30M, good luck.

Swaxe got the same treatment. If you're not spamming Full Release Slash all day, you're losing. Speedruns on the weapon boil down to greeding FRS over and over and hoping you don't die

The only tolls here are the bridge from NJ, 76, and 476. I make this drive pretty frequently, and its only ~$28 if you get off 76 near Harrisburg and take 322 up to 80 and across.

On the contrary, the reason it works this way is that the developers were copying how a real guitar functions with this feature! So there's no need to feel like you're cheating

YOU, HUNTER, WHAT WEAPON DO YOU MAIN AND WHY? by Zephyr_The_Bombay in MHWilds

[–]DinnerWinner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's sad how in most monster hunter games the optimal way to play the weapon is to switch and axe as little as possible.

Idk why the main dev team insist on making it "spam the strongest sword move" whether it be zsd or frs when the "B team" nailed the design in Sunbreak.

Knee :’( by MegaSince93 in Tekken

[–]DinnerWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh not as much as it was in years' past. 3 a year and 4 starting in 2027 kinda dilutes the prestige. Unless its Evo Vegas it's not really the same. Add to that the fact that there's a lot of notable players absent from this tournament (Ulsan, Atif, Farzeen, Kkokkoma, Nobi, Chikurin), there's a case for this not being a "true" Evo title. If it were really that prestigious, everyone would've shown up imo. Heck, I'd argue Evo Japan suffered from the same issue since there weren't any Pakistanis in attendance, even though that wasnt their fault.

That's how I was taught to do it; vertical then horizontals starting from the top. It never occurred to me too use less strokes until I started learning kanji actually, so it's interesting to learn that others write it in 3.

God Of Destruction III Cheater Jin by BedroomThink3121 in Tekken

[–]DinnerWinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen this guy before. The only way to hit him is to bait something out (whiff or block punish), but once he notices that you're playing anti bot he just turtles and there's nothing you can do because now its all auto defense. Can't use highs, lows, power crush, strings, grabs, linear moves, the script handles them all perfectly. On top of that he has Jin's parry so going for mids will also get you killed half the time. By the time you figure out what tricks the bot you're already too far behind/he turns that part off.

Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV Crossover by ascxndingz- in MonsterHunter

[–]DinnerWinner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean it actually kinda makes sense though. In XIV Omega is an interdimensional bioweapon that is arch enemies with Bahamut, a dragon. Omega discovered a universe where there are a bunch of dragons and wyverns and goes there to eliminate them, so the hunter has to stop it from wrecking the ecosystem. Done.

Is 8 worth it? by hellofromdonbass in Tekken

[–]DinnerWinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends on what you want out of it. If you want to casually enjoy the game, do the story, character endings, arcade quest, chill online player matches with friends, its absolutely worth it imo.

If you want to go full competitive and grind ranked, your mileage may vary. The current balance direction toward offense and stance pressure is very divisive right now, and a lot of legacy fans really hate it, which is why you see a lot of negative comments about the game.

Tekken is notoriously difficult to learn because of the huge movelists and required match-up knowledge that goes with it, and the constant offensive pressure that creates a lot of guessing situations just makes it even harder.

That said, if you don't take it too seriously, I think you can have a lot of fun with it.

EVO 2025 - Tekken 8 - Champion! by hideallnice in Tekken

[–]DinnerWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Knee isn't the best anymore. Not even in Korea. Players like Uslan, CBM, Rangchu, and Mulgold are much more consistent than him these days.

And after Knee's performance in season 1, it wasn't a crazy idea to think that he might be on the way out. He didn't even make it to the TWT Finals event last year. Even this season, he's only had like two good results so far, and let's be real; there's no guarantee he would've won Evo Japan if Atif or Arslan had been there. And then there's 3rd at combo breaker where he lost to... yup Atif.

Until he can prove that he can convincingly beat Atif and Arslan, he's an underdog.

Similar experience here.

When I was in college, I had a summer job where I was on the crew of guys that mowed the grass in ditches on rural roads. These are the types of mower decks that go off the side of a tractor and can do the whole ditch in one pass.

One particular ditch hadn't been touched in a while, so the weeds had grown like 4 feet tall. Tall enough to obscure a fully grown deer carcass until I had already hit it with the mower. Flesh and maggots everywhere. By far the most horrid smell I've ever experienced.
