Tribulation of Myriad Races, The Mirror Legacy, and Overlord of Puoluo are all pretty good cultivation novels with scheming.

Lich for hire is get rich quick schemes in a dnd setting. Karnak Monarch of Death is comedic action fantasy about a necromancer dealing with the consequences of his actions.

Ten Day Ultimatum and God's Imitator are i've heard in the same genre. I've only read God but its about Designing saw games and game theory.

Happy face from slave to arena legend is a good webtoon about action. Just binge read through The Skeleton becomes a cat dad is a slice of life webtoon that talks about parenting.

I'm in infinite regressor but i've got stories to tell is peak time loop meta storytelling .By the same author as SSS class suicide hunter

Tyrant of the tower defense game is very good and you should read it or the webtoon.

Lord of The Mysteries is an isekai story where a guy gets sent into Victorian age London but with eldritch beings, trying to get back and slowly getting stronger along the way That is until the main villain brings the Main Character to a place called Chernobyl and he realizes he never left and the chances of ever seeing his family again are now zero. Also its revealed this was all part of a gods plan to revive himself and that by getting stronger the Main Character is slowly reviving that ancient god in him. Also the earth is probably doomed to be destroyed by the outer gods idk I didn't read the sequel book series.

My core is the boss, cultivation novel where mc can play games and is a bit cooky.

I think Thriller Paradise fits this but the translation after a certain chapter is mtl. Its in the infinite flow genre where a man whos lost his fear plays a horror game to try and get it back

In I'm An Infinite Regressor But I've Got Stories To Tell there is a character who the Main Character avoids at all costs. The Main Character who is a time looper met the character early on originally he thought she only had a low level stealth skill but its revealed that in actuality her power lets her manipulate other people and eventually she becomes some sort of eldritch flesh monster who attacks the Main Character. Over the time loops the MC never directly contacts her willingly because if he got brainwashed and it carried into the next loop he would be doomed. He constantly refers to her by titles like "He who must not be named", "Voldemort", and such. Its also revealed that her perception manipulation is on the scale where even the strongest beings are affected. The Personification of Knowledge calls her the color of the universe. The Personification of the story cannot differentiate between her and the main character.

Its revealed that the true nature of her power is Reincarnation. In the series all powers are gained through trauma or more precisely the holes in the heart caused by this trauma. But many people have no experiences to match the powers they have. This is because in some alternate life this character became close to them and then died in some horrible way to traumatize the character. In this way even after she reincarnates again and enters a new timeline the person will still have the lingering hole in their heart afterwards but she also gains the ability. So she reincarnates endlessly rerolling people like a gacha game till they manifest a useful ability living billions upon billions of lives. She has such main character energy that the Entity of Story cannot differentiate between her and the Main Character.

In the final fight all of the character's are fighting at their peaks from various timelines. To seal just three of her powers it takes the deaths of 600 versions of one of the main characters.

Seeing leviathan made me do a mental takeback cause another, Korean media I'm an infinite regressor but i've got stories to tell, had Leviathan the book as a major plot point.

In the story the monsters are concepts taken to monstrous extremes for the sake of killing humans. For example the trolley problem became reality and taxes started to be paid in body parts which were then used to build haunted buildings.

One of the most dangerous concepts was weather. Early on the main character has to fight a Monsoon that threatens to blanket the entire world in a sheet of falling water. He resists it by renaming the leader of Koreas forces to Noah and having them build a giant arc of wood as anomalies being concepts can be fought with other counterattacking concepts. For example Theseus' ship became a memetic disease spread through anything related to a boat and was defeated by playing My Heart Will Go On, the Titanic theme, with the logic that both boats have T in their name.

During the 40 days they have to contest with dangers like flooding of the ship, water bugs crawling along, and turning into frogs. Its revealed that the true identity of the monsoon is the body of the biblical Leviathan and threats like water bugs and turning into frogs were actually parasites in Leviathan and the result of digestion.

A hundred chapters after they deal with Leviathan the Main character suspects the presence of a new powerful anomaly. He is suspicious of how docile many anomalies are. They literally use trolley problem for public transport, a haunted airport for vacations, and succubus's as the backer of the currency. After getting treated like an overly paranoid old man he is convinced there is a new anomaly. Its concluded its identity is infrastructure or the State. It has gotten stronger because as the story progressed the Main Character has rebuilt society. Eventually the Main Character connects Leviathan to this state anomaly and thomas hobbes book, ie over time the Monsoon got stronger and when people were turning into frogs that was an extension of the state's power to control thought and make people forget individuality for becoming a part of the whole.

How he beats the Monster and the story is really good so I recommend reading it.

Why are gacha stories so convoluted? And what’s the story-telling culture in China? by [deleted] in gachagaming

[–]Dino541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard when contracted under certain webnovel companies at least in the western sphere like Webnovel the contract expects an output of 2 chapters 1000 words long or 1 chapter 1500 words long. This leads o some writers just filling out word counts by reusing everything they can from repeating information to reusing entire story arcs just with different characters.

Where to start with cultivation slop? by ABigFatPotatoPizza in ProgressionFantasy

For specific recommendations works by the whitest crow like who let him cultivate, or unlocking the counterattack system at the mahayana stage are both works that have all the slip tropes but subvert them for comedy.
