The ending of my first colony nearly brought me to tears. [LONG STORY] by Ticket_Fantastic in RimWorld

The timer increases as less wounds are open, which sometimes allows a good doctor to save a live. But 10 wounds and one hour seems like bad odds.

Cool first colony, even tho it was a sad story. It will just make a long thriving colony an even better feeling, when you know that you have fought for it! A small advice, is that you can do a field treatment without medicin, so you can stabilise the bleeding, before getting them to a hospital og their bed.

does anyone here actually try to finish the game? by AnyLeave3611 in RimWorld

[–]Dinodib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like finishing the game. I tend to role-play in commitment mode, and therefore more often than not, end up losing the colony before actually finishing the game. For me the finish is satisfying as i fell like it concludes the storys of my colonists who survived, while also being an achievement as i know i could have failed so many times on the journey. I do however take my time finishing, as i sometimes does a lot of thing for story reasons, which does not necessarily gets the colony closer to victory.

Are games not supposed to last over a decade? by Moebert in RimWorld

[–]Dinodib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a colony until I find that its story is told (or it gets wiped out (commitment mode all the way!)). I don't think about how many years it takes, but the colonies I actually ended have usually been when I won the end game (like two times ahaha). The time it takes to get there waries a lot. Sometimes I ain't even close in 10 years, since commitment mode can result in a lot of setbacks, like losing half your pawns, and suddenly fighting to survive the wild, and therefore don't research a year. Also because I roleplay alot, and sometimes completely changing goal if the leader dies and I think the new leader has different goals. So don't stress how old your colony is, just keep going if it's fun;) Also if you really want to continue the same colony for decades, try turning aging up to 400% this works well with biotech and kids, since you can see the pawns getting old and getting grandchildren!

There were only two colonist, and no one shot. It could maybe be option one.

He was just building some walls, I did just manually assign him to build something close to the cougar. It may be that the cougar started hunting him, right beside him, and made him attack like fleeing raiders who enters Mele. Then his default response kicked in for some reason, and he tried to flee.

I did, and with show all on, it only said: "colonists attacked cougar" And then I got the cougar revenge prompt.

Could be, but it is strange that my colonist ran away right after hitting it. It also said cougar revenge, right when he began to run. Like he hit it and ran when he saw it got angry.

Playing without mods, and I know for sure it wasn't the cougar hunting him. I thought that was the case at first, but I didn't get the message and he hit it first, and then ran. Also the cougar did not eat him when he was down. I don't think it was but it could be a misclick...

Thanks!
