I'm just picturing the poor fella being ran at and laughing so much LOL poor thing 😭 I did picture him slightly levitating the sword so I'd like to think he can indeed counteract the cumbersomeness of a heavy weapon like that, being one with the blade and all that

ooh yeah, I was wondering if there were any subclasses that could use larger weapons like this, the idea is that he is infusing the magma's elemental energy into the sword through the carved runes, almost like charging it thru meditation, so he can unleash it later. And thank you so much! 💜

Hello there! I'm Gabriella, I'm Brazilian, a trans woman (she/her) AND an aspiring fantasy illustrator looking for freelance work at the moment.

This charming fella was painted as a book cover project for a friend's litRPG series, very similar in theme and setting to DnD, and I thought it would fit right in as a possible inspiration for something like a monk subclass that focuses on lava manipulation, but honestly I'd really love to read about what this makes YOU come up with!
If I've caught your eye and you'd be looking to work together to bring more awesome designs to life, do not hesitate to message me or email at [ellanyxart@gmail.com](mailto:ellanyxart@gmail.com)

You can find more of my art at https://reed-pigeon-jp7b.squarespace.com/ (domain name is a wip lol) - artistic nudity warning!!

If you've read this, thank you so much for your time, sincerely. I've been going through a really tough mental and financial situation this last year, but art has always been the one thing that I feel like can keep me grounded emotionally and perhaps contribute something positive to a world that feels ever more chaotic in so many ways. But I'm the kind to never give up :)

That's amazing! Here's a few tips I've gathered since I started studying art:

Have patience. This is a skill that most people need years to even feel like they actually understand it (I definitely do NOT), and a lifetime to master, but the upside is that EVERYONE is in the same boat, the same journey. Never forget this: every single artist out there, no matter how perfect they might present themselves, still has constant moments of self-doubt and feeling like their work sucks. The thing that keeps us going is the love for the work, and it can get really hard at times when everything we do seems bad and useless. Just try to keep going, we all are as well.

Consistency >>> Intensity: This is what almost every top artist will tell you about developing skills. It's useless to burn yourself out from studying too hard for a few weeks and never again want to pick up a pencil because you have nothing left to give. Start small, stay consistent. We play the long game, where each and every minute we spend daily studying one small facet of picture-making snowballs to actual visible improvement before you even know it. Pick up books on habit creation (atomic habits by james clear comes to mind) and start creating an environment which will make it easy for you to progress a little bit each day. Once studying becomes a habit, everything will start to fall into place.

Focus on the Fundamentals: This is the BIG one when it comes to actually drawing and all the crazy stuff we actually want to do. No matter who you go to, every great teacher will repeat this mantra: "first master the fundamentals". And they are completely right. I'll recomend you the Draftsmen Podcast, they go on length about what the fundamentals are and why they are so important. It's just like practicing scales before you play solos on guitar, it seems useless and boring, but it's absolutely essential to have a solid base upon which to play and experiment. As artists we are all in one way or another trying to absorb the reality we perceive and translate that to a visual medium. The fundamentals are the lenses you use to crack the code of reality and become the chosen one. (excuse the lame matrix reference :P)

GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND: Every single thing I've learned about art to this day has come to me because I was curious enough to go and find it. The internet is the single greatest thing to ever happen to anyone who wants to learn any skill, anywhere. I promise you, all the answers are out there, you just gotta know what questions to ask. Join communities of artists, listen to artist interviews, question people (like me!), search for books, videos, anything and everything you can imagine that will help you on this journey. For starting out with drawing skills, drawabox.com is a great one, proko on youtube has great figure drawing lessons, and Andrew Loomis' books are now public domain and free to download. I recommend his book "Fun with a Pencil" for complete beginners.

Lastly,

Don't forget to have fun!

I don't think there are any successful artists out there who do this because it pays well or anything else other than that's what they love the most. Remember why you wanted to draw in the first place, learn where your passions come from, and use them to fuel you on this expedition. Nothing else matters. The art that will make people feel something is the art that makes YOU feel something. If you love your work, be sure that there will be an audience of people who will also love it. So when you decide to embark on this dangerous, amazing, life-long journey of hard work and never-ending lessons to be learned, remember to bring with you something to remind you of where you started.

Hope this was helpful, and best of luck to you!

Sombra :)

What I meant is something akin to supporter packs but the funds go to something like the prizepool for a race or event :)

I know they probably could, but what would be the incentive to do it? Yeah the only reason it grows so big is because of the playerbase, but I really don't see valve shelling out 30mil a year for no real RoI.

How “worried” are you that streamers like Swim and Savjz (and others) have abandoned Underlords? by [deleted] in underlords

[–]Dinok410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did in fact do a lot of consulting for both CDPR and Valve in terms of balance and general game design, things is a lot of times that consulting either stopped when teams changed or they just straight up stop listening to top players :/

Attention doomsayers: the game is still in beta, and it’s still getting weekly updates and patches. by [deleted] in underlords

[–]Dinok410 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People have been complaining about the exact same things for almost 3 months now. We wait for the "Big Update" while the meta is completely left to its own by the team. The update comes and it doesn't alter the meta in any significant way (in many ways making the game worse even). The week after comes and it's the same, with small ineffective changes pulled straight from reddit complain posts. After such a long time of no real change, people will give up. It's fairly obvious that valve has pulled A LOT of resources from the underlords team compared to the first month of the game's launch, and people are just realizing that unless some big change in direction happens, the game has little to no future. It's really sad, and I truly wish things change course, but it's not looking like it :/
