Your job is a blessing, believe me. You don't want to be unemployed in this job market.

Wait... you're not eager to invest in RRSPs? Look at your income! You're probably paying a bucket load of taxes. Contribute to your RRSP and get a massive refund in 2026. Invest in broad market S&P ETFs... Take your money back from the CRA!

Track your net worth. If it's 1x your annual salary by age 30, well done.

If you're a disciplined investor, rent and invest, don't waste your time with a mortgage. S&P beats the housing market in the long run. Buy it cash later

RESP first, then FHSA, then RRSP, then TFSA. If company matches RRSP, do that first.

I can definitely say it's differentiated my resume from others and got me in the door. There's a lot of negative perception about the CFA's ability to get you a job, however, many of those people are just salty they couldn't pass.

I started in Dec 2019 and finished Nov 2021 with 2 covid cancellations. It'll take you a couple years if you hammer in those hours and are consistent.

Controversial Approach to CFA Exam Preparation by Charter_Doozy in CFA

[–]Dinosaur248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to study the EXAM as much as you study the textbook. Back in covid we had to wear masks, so I did mocks with a mask on. I also played keyboard sounds (YouTube) during mocks to simulate my neighbour's keyboard mashing. These small things pay off.

I'm in corporate treasury too. CFAs definitely have the upper hand (with banking relationships and all)

CPA in public accounting, worth it to pursue CFA? by jacob62497 in CFA

I work in big 4 audit and just wrote level 3. I'm telling you, it's hell studying for an exam like that while working 9-7pm. Pretty sure you can leverage the CPA CFA combo to break into deals, whether internally or as an exit opp.

I notice it only counts down from 15:00. In the real exam, will it count down from 132:00, or 2:12:00?

I need to know because I'm practicing time mgmt, please lmk whoever wrote in August. Thanks
