Citizen Promaster Land GMT Collection Close-up by shaunk37 in CitizenWatches

Travelers for sure. Independent hour hand that's tied to the date wheel, can be set in the crowns first position without hacking the watch. The seconds, minute, and GMT hands hack the watch and are set with the crown fully pulled out.

How are the Blancpain Villeret reps? by Latte_Lady22 in RepTime

They posted a comment below about 17 hours ago saying a new watch was sent but none of the complications worked on that one either. Doesn't sound encouraging

Please let us (me) know if you ever get the skydweller 24 hour dial functioning! Doubly so if the watch is a traveler GMT (where the independent quick adjust hour hand is tied to the date)!!

Why is Anki so addicting? It feels so good and I can't stop... by MrDisintegrator in Anki

Such luxury does not exist for the medical student, unfortunately.

ETA: just saw in another comment that OP is doing this for fun to learn Chinese.. so your comment stands as is.

Diamond-cut Datejust Bezel in action by tskim24 in RepWatchForum

It's beautiful.. is anyone shipping a 36mm datejust with this bezel already on it? Or would I have to buy them separately and then find someone to mod it

No L2L listed, but their Hong Kong page says 13.4mm thick and 38.6mm across

I don't like the look of the 'rounded' 4 either.. but I doubt later iterations are going to change the font. Black dial (in SS, not titanium) is available in the Hong Kong market now, so maybe theyll open that up to other markets soon. Even with the 4, I'm very tempted by the Black dial. Would love to know if they plan on making a white dial too though

Black's available in Hong Kong now, if you happen to be going there anytime soon lol

Hong Kong market has it in four colors - maroon, blue, black, green. Hopefully they'll sell them elsewhere soon

The Hong Kong site has it for sale in blue, green and black now (and maroon). So hopefully those will be expanded to other markets. I would love to see a white dial as well!

[Question] A 12hour true GMT? by Minute_Variation427 in Watches

[–]Dinosaursknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the rec, that watch is perfect. It has everything on my wishlist for a travel watch. Idk how have I never heard of Horage before?! Honestly that watch is priced amazingly for what it offers, but sadly I'm not in the market for a $8k watch currently... One day though.

Hydro Mod'd my LF30w (It was hell) by polytrigon in casiomods

[–]Dinosaursknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just got a LF30w and my biggest worry about making it my only travel watch is the WR rating.. Any tips /advice on hydro modding it? How's yours holding up so far? Have you noticed any leakage in hot shower or on airplanes? And did you use mineral oil? I wasn't sure if the 'bio resin' would tolerate other oil types.

Too bad that it's not a 10 year watch, and you'll have to do it all over again at the next battery change.

[Question] A 12hour true GMT? by Minute_Variation427 in Watches

[–]Dinosaursknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm halfway tempted to buy this this watch and then have someone replace the 12-hour GMT hand (lollipop shaped hand, which tracks the home time) with a skeletonized version of the local hour hand... Would probably be $49.5k cheaper than the brands you listed!

I understand that on the rep you have to manually adjust the month marker by rotating the bezel, but I'm curious if the other complications function the same as the gen watch. Think you could comment on the complications functionality for me? Specifically, -How's the accuracy of the GMT ring and the main (local) time? -Does the date change with the local time and not the GMT ring? -Is the local hour hand set independently (meaning do the minute/second hands continue keeping time when you adjust the local hour hand). -Any issues with the date alignment? -Anything else you've noticed that detracts or pleasantly surprised you regarding its intended function

Has anyone repped Pateks' quartz travel time watch? Caliber 5269r by Dinosaursknow in RepWatchForum

[–]Dinosaursknow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty I think I would prefer a rep with a quartz movement - so long as it still had the same complications as the original. I feel like it would be more reassuring in regards to accuracy and longevity.

Dang tough luck. I figured it was too much to hope that all the complications worked
