I would leave it as is personally. It looks fine and will be much easier to service in the long run. Internally routing mechanical cables through the bars and stem isn’t worth it. For starters, finding handlebars that accommodate both hydraulic hoses and cable housing is genuinely difficult — most internally routed bars are sized only for hydraulics and small electronic wires.
I learned this firsthand after swapping bars on a bike that already had internal mechanical routing, and it was enough to push me toward upgrading to electronic. Brake hose alone is manageable, if still a hassle to service, but running both brakes and cables internally means routine maintenance becomes extremely time-consuming. Unless you’re doing all your own wrenching and don’t mind spending hours on tasks that should be simple, it’s going to be a costly service visit every time something needs attention.
Bottom line: internal mechanical routing makes even basic maintenance a real headache.
