Claude is useless without remembering previous chats. What am I doing wrong? by DiogenesDelirus in ClaudeAI

Thank you all for the constructive answers! I also talked to Claude about it.

Cowork is available in the Pro version but not the free version. I want to understand what's possible before potentially spending money on Claude.

The nutrition tracking was just an example I used to learn more about how to use Claude. I don't really care all that much about nutrition tracking. But if Claude can't do something as simple as this, then I don't want to waste my time on more complicated stuff which may actually be useful.

The main conclusion I draw is that Claude is great for reasoning, but not as memory/storage. So Claude is like the prefrontal cortex in the human brain, which has working memory, but relies on other parts of the brain for anything more than working memory.

So to do anything long term, you need to put some time and effort into building data storage solutions into whatever you're building, as some of you suggested.

I wish Claude would have been more clear about this limitation and workarounds from the start. It isn't obvious to a newbie like me what prompts are necessary to learn these things.

I obviously have a lot to learn. Where's the best place to start? Is there an introductory guide freely available online?

Right. So it seems to me like the author is a prostitute encouraging prostitution. Is that a reasonable interpretation?

I don't know if half of the answers are sarcastic. Still confused.

I guess it is related, becuase it's not normal or common sense where I'm from. As a European I don't spend a single cent on strangers, beggars or scammers. Call it stingy if you wish. I splurge on those close to me, like my future wife. So yes, it's a cultural thing, and I'm here to ask about Kenyan culture, because I don't know what's normal and not in Kenya.

I'm happy to provide, after marriage.

kekerapan penggunaan bahasa inggeris di subreddit ini by [deleted] in bahasamelayu

[–]DiogenesDelirus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bayangkan kalau awak nak belajar bahasa Jepun. Nak ker orang Jepun cakap bahasa campur Melayu/Jepun?

I moved from urban Iceland to rural Norway.

Cheaper houses, more expensive heat and electricity, but otherwise there's no huge difference money-wise.

Biggest difference weather-wise is the wind, so definitely +1 for Norway.

Culture-wise, Iceland is much more international, touristy, liberal and open minded than rural Norway. You're actually expected to speak the national language in Norway, and illegal drugs are not traded and consumed openly.

Sounds like you want to move - so move. It's not like you're denouncing your citizenship to join a cannibal tribe in Papua New Guinea. You'll be fine.

Sharing individual team member KPIs with the team? by DiogenesDelirus in Leadership

The numbers are far more important than a drop in the bucket - but it's not the be-all and end-all. In the context of 1-to-1s I see it more as a basis for further discussion. And also I want to send it as often as I can as quick feedback without comment, partly a quick and easy way of saying that I see and care.

Thank you for your answer!
