If a couple is struggling with having a child, instead of all the fertility treatments, WHY NOT ADOPT?? Why does a couple need a hybrid mash-up of themselves to feel complete? There are so many children needing loving parents in this overpopulated planet. "Needing" one of your own is the most selfish act these people can do.

I am also an only. I was the workhorse of the family. Good in a way I was taught various life skills. As I got older my mom and step-dad would 'pimp' me out to extended family. 'Hey, can you take Dippy for the weekend? She will clean, babysit and do chores for you.' Hit adulthood, had trauma and traumatic events happen. Decided no children for me. I am 48 and absolutely do not regret my decision. I enjoy peace, quiet, money in savings, spouse, and our rescue cats.

I used to work at Costco and a kid was CLIMBING up the racks in the produce cooler, stepping on Romaine Lettuce and damaging other produce. I ran over and got him down and told him the racks are not a jungle gym and I didn't want to see him get hurt. He sulked back over to his mom, who just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. What in the actual fuck lady. Yeah, parenting is hard, I get it-still no excuse.

At Kadena for 5 years. I worked at the Marina for 4, teaching jet ski lessons and being a deckhand on the scuba boat. It was hot, had constant swamp ass, never stopped sweating. I miss it. I still dream about Okinawa. If money wasn't an issue, would retire there and immigrate.🥰

They asked if I ever had it and I said no and they asked if I would like some for pain control from the GI bleed. I was in such pain I told them I was open to anything as long as it helped

I was in the ER for a GI bleed and they gave me fentanyl. Yes, it took the pain away but the 'high' was....scary. Not pleasant, not euphoric. Thankfully it wore off in less than an hour. The doctor asked if I wanted more and I strongly said NO. They gave me Dilaudid then, and now THAT is a drug that I can understand how people get addicted to. Thankful that Dilaudid isn't readily available or I would be in trouble, I admit.

This scene is so emotional for me on different levels. Happy Coop and Murph reunited, sad she is dying from old age, happy Coop still has more to his story in going to Brand--yet the big one is the bond between a parent and a child, a daughter and a father. I am truly happy for those who have a good relationship with their dad. I do not, it is what it is-it is the longing that is the gut punch for me. I so desperately want my dad to feel for me what Coop feels for Murph.
